[PoE2] Bind Spectre – Shepherd of the Pit and other mobs cannot be bound

I am reporting a possible bug or unclear interaction in Path of Exile 2.

When using Bind Spectre on certain Abyss monsters, such as Shepherd of the Pit, the monster does not drop its nameplate or Spirit cost on the ground after death.
Because of this, it is impossible to bind the spectre, even though the monster is targetable and appears to be a valid enemy.

This behavior also happens with other Abyss monsters, not only Shepherd of the Pit.

I am not sure if this is intended design or a bug, but there is no in-game indication that these monsters are unbindable.

I would like to add an important gameplay-related detail.
I am currently playing a full Minion-focused build, and the inability to Bind Spectre certain Abyss monsters significantly restricts this type of build.
In practice, this behavior can force the player to: – abandon a minion-focused playstyle
– switch to a spell-casting build
– or even reroll to a different character
If this limitation is intentional, it would be helpful for it to be clearly communicated in-game. Otherwise, it feels inconsistent with other Abyss monsters that can be successfully bound within the same content.

I would also like to add a more general design consideration.
I originally started playing the game specifically because of my curiosity about Minion-based builds and the freedom to experiment with them.
Giving players full freedom in build choices encourages experimentation, creativity, and the discovery of new interactions within the game systems. This is one of the aspects that makes Path of Exile especially engaging.
When certain options are unavailable without a clear in-game explanation, it can discourage build experimentation and limit player-driven creativity, particularly for niche or specialized builds such as full Minion setups.
