What is GGG's stance on macros?

I am just wondering if there are any rules against using macros in-game. I realized that I have never seen anyone asking this or answering this before. Are /oos macros against the TOS? What about logout macros or Alt+F4 macros? Would someone be breaking the TOS by using AutoIt instead of built-in keyboard macros?

logging out is already sad enough(when you lose 1% of your usual 6k ES as seen in many streams - or in general) but a macro for it? damn

Lose 1% of your 6k ES? Huh?

* They are against the ToS.
* GGG has not made an explicit statement on simple macros.
* They are nearly undetectable therefore you will probably not be banned.

other way of saying you get a little bit of damage while not being even remotely close to anything that could be called dying

i see people with 6-8 k energy shield who log out after losing 500 of it

I wish that GGG would make a statement on this. Anyone can be detected for running AutoIt if GGG puts some money into detecting things like that, but I stay away from all programs like that.

Well I don't watch streamers so I wouldn't know this lol. My brother manually logs out when he hits 500 or less ES. Logging out after losing 500 ES seems pretty stupid and is a waste of time/portals.

You want to ban everyone using AutoIt/Autohotkey while playing? That'd be fun to watch, considering how widely the program is used outside of PoE "cheating".

I'm using autohotkey for /oos, /itemlevel and /remaining regularly. If GGG clearly states it's against the ToS I will stop saying I'm using it and will use it secretly. I mean I would stop using it *cough cough*.

I repeated myself in numerous threads. Using macros to bind in-game functionality to a button have no reason to be against ToS.

Maphacking is against ToS, automating user interactions (botting) is against ToS. These functionalities are not given to you by GGG, if you use these you'll have advantage over other players.

On the other hand initializing a simple call for an already-available in-game functionality is not against ToS.

I believe this is the definition of a macro.
That being said, I highly doubt using an "/oos" button is ban worthy, as it's very likely a function that GGG would like to add themselves.
