Shavronne's Wrappings to become a more obvious choice?

So in case any of you haven't read the patch notes yet, CI got a little nerf. The cluster after Chaos Inoculation that gave 3x 8% increased energy shield and 20% more energy shield was changed to 3x 6% energy shield and 12% more energy shield.

Previously getting Shavronne's Wrappings seemed to be the goal of almost every energy shield based spellcaster (discounting summoners) and it does not require the CI branch. If you didn't have a Shavronne's, then it was a bit of a bummer, but you could spec defensively into CI, though you would do considerably less damage.

Now that the benefit to CI is lesser, I predict that the path of Shavronne's or farming gear with a low life build in a place with no chaos damage until you find Shavronne's will become even more obvious.

indeed. in a vacuum, it would be just a simple nerf and not a total invalidation of CI, but as long as shavronne's is in the game it's going to be the no-brainer end-all item for a lot of builds. i'm really not regretting my decision to step away from PoE atm, despite the fact that this last patch has opened the door for many other build types.

btw reducing the multiplicative factor from 0,2 down to 0,12 is more then a little nerf

wtf why do they hit es there and not where it matters reducing the +es mmod from 145 down to 120 and 120% down to 100 so only a max of 156% is possible and not 176

this does close to nothing to the guy in 1k es chest and hits only the small ppl who struggle to get decent es

Iron Reflexes now no longer includes your Dexterity bonus to Evasion from your Evasion before it is converted to Armour.

seems this patch will hit me really hard cant wait for the changes going live

If it were up to me, the nodes behind CI wouldn't be energy shield at all... they'd be offense nodes of some kind.

I also suggested this, that an avoidance behind the CI would be nice.

More reasons to build dual totem based characters basically.
