Cant wait to see whats in store for the magic/strength class!

I'm always a fan of playing magic/mystic boosted fighters! You know, the kind of characters that can, boost stats, Enchant their own weapons, and give enemies negative status. Im curious to see what's coming. So any hint's on whats in the works?

Before coming over to the forums I was reading the article on incgamers, in which the developers mentioned they had intended for some people to want to make tank/caster types using certain skill combination. This is great news for me as i also enjoy classes that can mix it up in the middle of the fray while casting damaging fiery halos on themselves or large frost novas to freeze enemies before shattering them with a maul.

From what I've read the stats go well together in that intelligence isn't just about magic but having the knowledge to strike enemies in critical points. Also armor based on intelligence has magical 'shielding' that absorbs damage before your character is hurt.

I'll have to hold off on suggesting improvements to this kind of fighter until I am able to try it out but it looks like the developers have many of the bases covered already.
Paladin anyone....?

All of the skills we have been shown are all offensive in nature. Are we going to have skills like Cure/Heal or Raise?
All the classes are meant to be good for doing damage but i think there are some support skills if you want to build your character that way, not sure if there are heals and raise dead skills though.

They went with the same idea as Guild wars 2 and Diablo 2 where there are no dedicated healers, they tend to be hard or slow to solo with and well, its just more fun to be hacking up things and melting faces
I see your point, but I can remember building a "Healadin" in D2 and it was a load of fun to play. I could 1 shot undead mobs on hell mode and and I could keep teammates alive by spamming holy bolt on them.

Imagine have a healing spell like holy bolt and adding a flame AoE to it... you heal your target and when the heal connects, it roasts the enemies surrounding your ally.

Would be sweet.

When we say that there are no dedicated healing classes, we mean that all classes are equally good at killing monsters.

Players can of course equip only support skills and perform a support role if they want to help their party in that way.

We haven't announced the details of the Strength/Intelligence class, but I can confirm that there are skills available that add elemental damage to your weapons.

Sweet, elemental weapons are one of my favorites. I hope you guys are going to have a good selection of elemnts and enemy weaknesses. Dont cheap out on just having the basic 4 (earth, wind, water, and fire) and go with the expanded set (fire, ice, wind, earth, water, lightning, light, and darkness).

Being a tank is one thing, but being able to get the upperhand on alomost ANYTHING by using the right skills is the way i like to play.

I hope they make a character that deals with magic but isn't about throwin a combo of spells, one after another. Fireball, firewall, firedoll, firefall!

I'd like to play something that was more about using the right spell at the right time with a great cost. Summoning creatures or shapeshifting, cursing or teleporting. "Nukers" got old for me.

Maybe I should work on a concept and suggest the devs?
im always a fan of effect spells that can be powerful, but dangerous. Like a spell that swapps damage and healing effects but for a very short time. You can go up against some seriously over-leved creatures, but you have to be careful. Pair this with a good counter and a teleport ability, and you've got a level 20 charater that can run level 30 raids.
