Using Vaal Orb on Unique Items destroys the unique Items?

I just had the very unpleasant surprise to destroy my Advarius Ring, with a Vaal Orb. It doesn't state anywhere that Uniques will downgrade, and i didn't read that anywhere also.

From what Chris said in the video presentation of the last patch and how Vaal Orbs work, he never mentioned that, it is not mentioned anywhere, and many other friends of mine told me that using Vaal Orb's on Unique Items usually result in no other stats or just +1 random stat, never changing the quality of a Unique item.

Here is the changed Andvarius ring,
It wasn't a perfect Andvarius, it had 64% Item rarity drop, but how can it be destroyed?

If an admin or someone can help me to answer how are unique items (since i used Vaal Orb's on 5 untill the Andvarius, and not one has changed, but the Andvarius actually was destroyed).

Is there any chance i can get my Ring back?

No, you won't get your ring back, this is working as intended.

m8, i used Vaal Orb's on 4 more Uniques and they didnt change at all, it just got the corrupted status. When i used it on Andvarius it just destroyed it.
I know what Unpredictably means, but still, it should have been a warning maybe? in the patch notes? You know, something like : Using Vaal Orb's on Unique items could result in destroying it.

I am actually very happy that it didnt destroy my 6L Shavronne's Wrappings and Voll's Devotion. I couldn't care less about that ring, its just the fact that GGG didn't warn us, like they should.
I spent a lot of money on this game, i think i have the right to see those kind of warnings when something CAN destroy my very hard worked items.
I spent MONTHS to get my 6L Wrappings, if that thing would have been destroyed with that bullshit Orb because i had no warning whatsoever, i wouldn't have spent any money on this game ever again.

This is bullshit. Again, i don't care about the Ring anymore, the fact that they didn't bother at all WARNING us, that shows how much they rly care about their community.
Adding new CurrencyOrb that has the potential to destroy your VERY EXPENSIVE uniques deserves a Warning, in my opinion.

The description on the orb should be warning enough. You were lucky on your other uniques.

A warning? like...ohh lets say

They have a warning on them...dose it matter a blind bit to those that use them? dose it even get read? NOPE it doesn't there are multiple bug reports about missing quality because people DON'T read warnings.

It does matter if it has a warning on them, i always read the tooltips, i also read the tooltips on Vaal Orb but there is no statement whatsoever that it can ruin your months of playtime with 1 click.
Especially on this item, there is no other item that can destroy a unique, and since this is the first, it should have a warning.
Simple as that.

If you tell me that "Modify a item unpredictably" is actually the definition of a warning on an item that CAN piss on your hard work, you are either a kid or a serious fanboy of GGG.

High risk items should always display the risk you are about to take, and take it only if i agree to that risk.
There is no other game that has a high risk item that can hugely modify another item and misses the WARNING.

Again, this should rly be taken into consideration.
But seeing that after 3 years they still have desync, i seriously doubt they will ever implement such thing.

Its just simple, like walking out the door every single day, you don't know what to expect outside, there is a small possibility that you will die that day, thats unpredictable. When you go outside and die instantly, then your brother walks out and also die instantly then your sister and so on. That is not unpredictable, that's ruining something, and something MAJOR is causing that.
Just like this item, there is a MAJOR change to the item, its not unpredictable.

You ring did not get destroyed, as evidenced by the fact you linked it.

Its not andvarius anymore, but its not gone either.

Did they restore your unique?

I just discovered this "fine print" of the Vaal Orb the other day when it downgraded my VoidEye into this:



Contacted customer service, they told me they could not restore the item. Extremely frustrating. This is not a fun way to discover the properties of Vaal Orbs.

That's probably not a good candidate for a Vaal orb anyway. Most likely outcome if it did anything else would have replaced the socket with a different implicit mod, thereby making the ring useless anyway. The only positive outcome I can think of is turning the socket white. Everything else is a negative outcome.
