Life Leech Vs. Life gain on Hit With CoC

So, I'm having trouble discerning a marginal difference between a 20/20 Life Leech and a 20/20 LGOH while using Spectral Throw to proc Glacial Cascade.


Life gain on hit -

♦ Applies Instantly
♦ Only Applies To Spectral Throw

Life Leech -

♦ Does Not Apply Instantly
♦ Seems To Apply Near Instantly
♦ Applies To Spectral Throw And Glacial Cascade
♦ Does Not Seem To Be Very Effective Since GC Is A Bunch Of Smaller Hits


The old life leech would obviously be the better option, but since the nerf.... it's been next to useless for all of the builds I have played since the nerf.

Can anyone give me a definitive answer in regards to the best of these two to use, and the reasoning behind the decision?

On hit only applies to your attacks. Leech will mostly apply to your spells if your weapon damage is low. On hit is also much better in half regen maps.

I have used LL + VP in Nemesis and now use LGOH in Invasion.

I would strongly recommend LGOH given the current state of VP. The 15 or so points you save (as a ranger or shadow) can be spent on chaos res & block % instead, which when coupled with the-only-shield-that-matters (Rathpith) will provide you strong spell block which is also reflect mitigation. It also compliments TT nicely, so you can get 70-80 LGOH.

Non-VP LL is *absolutely not viable* with a properly built COC setup, you will murder yourself instantly vs reflect. LGOH is also significantly more consistent which is in my view a necessity for HC leagues.
