Pierce + Chain/Fork
So if a projectile has pierce chance how does it work with Chain/Fork. Would additional proj from C/F have a chance to pierce aswell or does pierce ruin the effect?

A projectile can only do one of the three at a time. If it pierces, then it can't chain/fork from the same enemy.

To add on to what soze said: if a projectile that forks or chains has a chance to pierce but does not, the projectiles that result from the fork/chain will have a chance to pierce as well. Forked/Chained projectiles are the exact same as the original, just from a new starting point.

Why is chain so sought after compared to LMP/Fork/Pierce? I mean is it really worth as much as it's going for that you MUST have chain over the others?
Also whats the difference between LMP and GMP? Последняя редакция: Steven205#7615. Время: 3 февр. 2013 г., 13:34:30

I think chain is more likely to ensure further hits. And LMP and GMP... LMP has less projectiles, but I think a higher damage-effectivness (2 to 4 projectiles, but 70 to 50% damage-effectivness).
What I would like to know is how their priority is. If I have Chain, and skilled Pierce, do my projectils always Chain, since I have 100% Chance of it due to the support or will they only Chain if they do not Pierce? I imagine the scenario of a skill that has a 50% Chance to split into 2 projectils on hit, which technically is fork. So it has a 50% Chance to fork, with support and passiv I could have 75% Pierce. The result could be: 1. 75% Pierce and 25% Fork, because Pierce is checked before Fork. 2. 50% Fork and 50% Pierce, because Fork is checked before Pierce. 3. 60% Pierce and 40% Fork, because they both add up to 125% and are normalized for 100%. At this point in the game it does not matter, although 100% Pierce is possible, which seems to make Fork and Chain useless. At this point it doesn't matter, since you can't get a percentage of Fork or Chain and it seems as if Pierce is done before Fork and Chain, but technically they are all 3 similar, since they decide what happens to a projectile attack upon impact. |

I think they only chain if they don't pierce.
Chain biggest advantage is that it can hit same enemy more then once. Последняя редакция: Torin#1843. Время: 3 февр. 2013 г., 15:58:15
