PoE - offline game possible in the far future?

i remember chris saying (think it was on reddit) as someone asked what they would do whenever money runs out that he happily would pull the plug with no offline version.

PoE cosmetic microtransaction business model just can't work with offline mode.

PoE can't go offline: plain and simple.

yeah, something like Median XL or Chaos Empire would be cool. They were awesome mods for D2. I actually was kinda thrilled when I read that Brother Laz from Median XL was designing some Uniques for GGG but I guess he only did very few in the beginning....that's probably why so many uniques suck :P
