Loot filter not working

Hi renamed the file in .filter and put it in the POE main folder but when i play the game I don't see the filters in the UI tab. What am I doing wrong?

Having the same issue. Every instructional video/text says 'make sure its in the same folder as 'awakeningbeta.config'' but were not in the beta so...?

I have mine named xx.filter, and have it saved as all file types (which successfully changed it to filter type).

Not sure what to do now.

Edit: this is super frustrating. I've watched every video there is to watch on creating loot filters, and in no video do the contents of their PoE folders match what is in my PoE folder. I don't have any config.ini files, and this has to have something to do with the problem since a lot of the guides tell you to make sure its in the same location as the config files.

Edit: issue resolved, for me anyway, see below.

Hi everyone,

The location of your filters should be put in the same folder as the production_Config file, which should be located somewhere similar to "\My Documents\My Games\Path of Exile".

Many Thanks,
Arthur
DOCUMENTS

Stress on the MY DOCUMENTS part. I guess I was reading too quickly, and/or am just too used to modding things via the actual game folder and putting the file(s) in there. Hopefully this works for OP and anyone else reading (slowly and carefully at this point unlike me) as the week goes on.

It's working flawlessly now, thank you Arthur.
I've done as said above, and i can choose it ingame, and it says it loads without issues, yet the game doesn't "filter" items. Suggestions? live version of the game, win 8.1

EDIT: nevermind, i simply changed zones and it started working.

Ooooooh the My Documents folder, so not the main folder of PoE, alright, thank you
Any further suggestions?

I've got a .filter file in the My Documents/My Games/Path of Exile/ folder, and still no dice on getting an Item Filter drop-down to show up in Options -> UI.
Disregard, I saved as .filter "all file types" but Windows somehow received instructions to make it a .txt file type anyway. This was likely an artifact of how I've typically given Windows instructions for saving Notepad++ files or something similar.

Never do GUIs, kids. They can be unhealthy and addicting.

I'd advise anyone with a similar problem to check the file properties, and make sure it's listed as a FILTER file rather than a TXT file, regardless of name.
