Loot filter not working
" Fixed it. Renamed my files with a .filter lowercase. The restarted the game and it worked out. |

If you are having issues with getting a filter file (ex: NAME.filter.txt), when making the file, change the file type to "all files" and change the encoding to "unicode" if it is on ANSI. You can ignore the encoding step if the file type changes with "all files".
I do recommend keeping a text file of the document if any issues come up later. |

" Hello, I changed the file type to "all files" and the encoding to "unicode" but it still saves as a text file and does not show up in my in-game option menu. Do you or anyone else knows how I can fix this? Thanks in advance |

Just walked a guildie through this.
On Windows, there is an option to see or hide the file extension from view. In order to see the "true" extension of a file, take a look at the directory contents in the detailed view, the view where you can see the files as a vertical list of files along with subdirectories, and also where you can see the "Date Modified" value and "Type" value of each file in the list. My guildie was confused about the extension of the filter file. I told him that the extension needed to be .filter and not .filter.txt, but what he saw on his screen as the name of the file was something that ended in .filter. However, when looking at the value in the file "Type" column, Windows reported the type of the file as a TXT file. I had him switch file extensions to visible mode, and then he was able to see that the filter file had a hidden .txt extension. Once he deleted the .txt extension from the file, PoE was able to pick up the .filter file properly, meaning that the .filter file showed up in the Options/UI screen under "List of Item Filters". Double check your settings and make sure that your loot filter isn't invisibly named a .txt file. Hope that helps, -xod |

I had the same issue, coudnt see the filter in Options -> UI ... file was named lootfilter.filter ... but the file was rly still txt. I just downloaded total commander program and changed lootfilter.filter.txt to lootfilter.filter ... voilà it works :)

I've done everything that people have said and still only have 1 of the filters showing up. I don't understand why the others will not show up on the list.
