Vaal Molten Shell totems from tora mission extremely overpowered

But isn´t the vms totem the whole thing at the unique gorilla boss?
And if you see gorillas in a tora mission shouldn´t you know "ok there can be the vms totem boss in here".

It is intendet that fast hiting mellee chars get killed by the vms totems. And even if you reduce it how low do you suggest? 1000 fire damage? 500? Assuming 75% fire-res that would already mean you only need to deal with 250 lost hp. Because most mellee builds have 76% and fortify and maybe arctic armor (which not works for movement skills) and a high life regen, you get at a point where you can easily tank this guy. And then I think the boss becomes a totally no brainer, And I think every boss need to have some kind of really threatening attack, you have to deal with.

Did just instant RIP in HCT on this totem with my level 84 cycloner.
Well I did learn something new. Always double check when your on a Tora misson.

I can't imagine GGG reading this thread full of QQ and doing anything but laughing about it.

The totems aren't going anywhere, fam. They are tough for some builds and instarip others, and are designed to do just that. Not paying attention? Not prepared? Hit a billion times a second? See you in softcore.

This thread is just confirmation that GGG can look at and go "hah, it works!"

Trust me, they knew exactly what they were doing when they implemented it.

You missed or mentally skimmed over two really important questions:

1. Is there anything in a Tora mission that is designed to one-shot ranged players / spellcasters? (I'll answer it to save time: no)
2. Based on your answer to 1., are Tora missions then well-designed, or should there be further work? (to either introduce more random mechanical oneshots like some kind of long-range VMS, or change or remove this one)
Just started playing after a long break. 3700hp, 950 mana unreserved, mind over matter, 75 fire res. Walked into a Tier 1 map, playing blade vortex...yeah...blade vortex.

I touched it ever so slightly, with ~10-15 blades going, instant death. No warning, no time to potion, the second I was in range of the totem I died.

This is utter horse shit.
