ORCHARD BOSS / INSTAGIB / BALANCING ISSUES

It was definitely starting right away. The ring would appear around me and I'd immediately burn to death (very, very quickly) while it was contracting. At least now I know it's fire damage I guess?
Wonder how many of these threads will disappear when people realize the goal of boss overhaul was to make them mechanically interesting instead of simple dps and ehp checks.

The beam visual starts right away but I think the damage has a delay, I'd sometimes take close to no damage from it if the pillar was close enough. A pretty nice fight, she's dangerous for sure but most of her moves aren't hard to avoid if you pay attention.
Wish the armchair developers would go back to developing armchairs.

I mean, the other moves are easily evaded, she'd be trivial with a ranged character. But if she's not standing near a pillar, moving in to attack is basically a death sentence. It'd be nice if some of these bosses had mechanics that punished ranged builds instead of only punishing short range/melee characters, who already have problems with clearspeed and getting punished by all the shit that punishes ranged toons anyways. Where's the bosses with flickerstrike or the the bosses with far shot keystone?

'Mechanical fight' seems pretty synonymous with 'screws melee' right now.
Actually, I think she's one of the rare few bosses that are fair to both, I'm playing a very underpowered melee at the moment in essence and she's no problem. Her anti melee attack is the warp circle and that one is easy to avoid, a ranged build has to deal with her mortars which are much more dangerous.

Not nearly as bad against melees as, say, Maligaro, he lays traps you constantly fall into while moving around him, relocates a lot so you have to move whether you want or not and spams his supercharged desecrate right under your feet. Very rippy and annoying.

It's a mechanical fight, very similar to Shock & Horror but her other abilities are far less annoying than warping totems that leave shocking ground and easier to avoid.

She uses her regular mortars that deal fire damage, they can shotgun so multiprojectile map mod is not advised, she will not use them at short range. Also fires mortars that spawn skeleton adds, not a big problem. She also has a warp move (green field around her) that also deals fire damage and slows you down, easy to avoid.

The thing that killed you was probably her laser, it does fire damage over time but doesn't start right away, you got time until the ring around you contracts so it's easy to get to a pillar nearby and break her line of sight which will stop the laser.

Almost, she doesn't use the chaos degen skill or at least I never saw her do it.

Two seconds is more than enough time to break line of sight. If you stand in fire for that long, getting burned is on you.

Will a flask of dousing negate the burn damage?
I feel over capped resists are especially important this league. Safells is amazingly strong and cheap as a switch shield. Mobility is also super important.

Orchard boss is definitely one of the scary ones but there are worse.
