Map Boss HP is retarded / not worth it / waste of time / GGG do you even try
I`m pretty sure the idea was to lower guardian HP, not to get every others map boss HP on par with Guardian HP.
My question basically is... why bother killing map bosses anymore? For the 3 blue random items they drop? Just died to Burial Chambers boss because, huge HP, spawns 46592342 zombies, desecrated ground, dark as shit, can`t see anything, also, detonates all the 44343243 zombies, and gets soul eater when i kill them. Tactic - run around, avoiding the constant detonate corpses, hit her every now and then. BUT WAIT: She has ES, which regens. So until i can take her ES down, i have to run again cuz all the shit that`s happening and she`s on full ES again. Point is, this is just one example of a boss that takes a lot to kill, rewards are shit, not worth the risk of losing xp by wasting too much time on her, OR dying. p.s. if we exclude expansion this "league" is ... well I`m sure everybody gets all wet when they get that 1/20`th of a Chaos orb drop. 19 More to go. Stated goal was to smooth the curve between map bosses and guardians (by increasing map boss health to match the curve, not to nerf guardians), so your basic premise is flawed.
If you don't want to/can't kill map bosses, then don't. Do it once for the atlas and then skip them and leave them to rot in their totally optional dungeon area. If you don't want your chaos scraps, then don't pick them up. It's better than 0/20 of the chaos you would have got without popping the harbinger and his cronies. Or would you like only every 20th harbinger to drop a whole chaos orb? Which would make absolutely no difference after an arbitrarily high number of kills? |

people are just going to tell him to git gud because many people in this community are elitist idiots that think saying such a thing is a legitimate argument, but he has good points. on my standard characters where i could respec directly into what i wanted and load up my 6L gear and OP stuff and 20/20 gems, the map bosses hp isn't an issue. im already plugging away at t15s trying to get back to the guardians to test my setup to see what is optimal and it isn't an issue. however playing the game from scratch or even SSF, the transition into maps is going to be absolutely horrendous. i imagine you will have to skip all kinds of bosses. even on one of my standard characters with insane dps and such, i just wanted to test something so i ran a tier8 map which just happened to have something like 30% inc boss hp, and that boss took like 30 seconds to kill. i forget the map, but it much have been a naturally high hp boss or something. "oh no 30 seconds thats such a long damn time blah blah" keep in mind this is a character that can clear end game content and clear it fast. normally i can kill mid tier bosses in about 2-3 seconds. and yes, 30 seconds is a long time. problem with drawing the fights out is that the game has naturally evolved into everybody being a glass cannon because of a few reasons #1 everybody is glass regardless of defenses. doesn't matter if you have 70% chance to evade, you'll get one shot. doesn't matter if you have 12k ES, you can still get one shot. doesn't matter if you have 9k life, you can still get one shot. #2 best defense is a good offense. kill before you're killed. #3 best defense is a good offense. vaal pact is a NECESSITY because life pots almost don't even exist anymore. they don't regen enough, they don't regen fast enough, they don't have enough charges. this is regardless of how you augment them. thus your main defense is your life leech, so you want as much dmg as you can get to leech as much life as quickly as possible. so when fights are now lasting way longer there is more time for you to mess up vs the mechanics and get one shot, more time to just get one shot by their overtuned adds or something else, more time for you to waste all your flask charges without making any progress (need to portal out constantly), etc etc |

Ok. About getting good, I`m no expert but I`ve been playing PoE for a while now.
I agree with smoothing the curve between guardians and map bosses since last league it took me 3-4 sec to kill a t15 boss and forever + 6 portals to kill a guardian. So yeah. But what`s now is overkill. xMustard covered it all pretty well. Point is, if i`m having trouble killing a BEACH BOSS at lvl 73, with end game weapons and a 5L, then how is anybody new going to map? How is SSF going to map? And as for the dmg, this Patch was the biggest possible "FUCK YOU" to hardcore players. And regarding what xMustard said about flasks. Glace is a great example. SO it takes a lot for you to kill him, and obviously u get hit from time to time. Getting hit = getting frozen. A normal life flask with freeze removal has 3 uses. And before anyone saying to get more freeze flasks, come on. You can`t stack up o 5x flasks on each Map Boss depending on what dmg it does. So yeah, by increasing the boss HP and need to dodge everything now a boss fight lasts waaay too long, and flasks can`t keep up. I`m not even going to mention the fact that Twinned maps exist. Some bosses were made for quick killing, or u get swarmed, like Mirage of Bones, Alira with her many zombie summons, and anything that stacks up on totems, curses, summons, minions. It`s already a pattern. GGG fixes up one thing, and then breaks up 10 others. I`m sure hardcore players are super happy that volatiles won`t 1shot them anymore, but ... everything else will. They removed annoying areas in acts 2 and 3, but now u need forever to get the Shav Tower, Arakaali, and there were some others. And yes, lab rewards are better now, so i`ts worth exploring the lab, but not worth mapping. So this league Uber Labs and Breach Domains will be the only thing worth doing. As for the 1/20th of a Chaos Orb, look, i realize after this expansion they didn`t have time to come up with a cool league, but this one is just ... dumb. Rewards are Ugly AF, those guys just summon more monsters ... while doing stuff to them that I don`t know what happens cuz i`m ranged. And u alt and trans shards (seriously?), 1/20 of a Chaos or Regal, and the new currency doesn`t make sense. Ancient orb is just ... lack of imagination. Annulment is an Eternal with 1/6 chance to work basically (depending on your pref/suff count). If there was NO expansion and this was just a new league like Breach was, everybody would`ve been super dissapointed. |

i like it so far as i make whole new character in new league
league suck, but the prize challenge is eye candy but yea.....the dark theme inside bosses area? i bet the dev lack on eye check on that, further more there no gamma correction in option settings only suggestion is level up first before going to fight a boss, because you gonna die a lot. liek literally A LOT Последняя редакция: leftyZX#1795. HAH, how stupid. It would be one thing if bosses were actually worth killing in this game, but somehow its always been better off slaughtering trash. Now they just make it even more more lopsided, LMAO.
