Season One, Race Event 21: One Week Party
Woah, you make a party event but have the (extremely likely - almost guaranteed) possibility of someone playing nonstop with 5 other people getting double his partners' reward points? I think GGG missed the whole point of "party" race here.
EDIT: I think the time investment vs rewards argument is kind of moot. It's probably an EASIER demigod in this race than simply doing all the smaller races inside the week because you just have to throw more mindless time at it. And as Sakujo said, the easiest demigod of all is simply collecting 5 exalts and trading for one. People really fighting for reward points will do all the events (and grind the 1 week the rest of the time), and with the number of events out there it's already an insane time investment no matter how you slice it. I love the events, but with the new system of rewards each passing Race I have less desire to play the next.
The Race Week is my favorite event, even with little desire in the other Races, was eager to play this, but seeing the reward system I think it is worth it, and as I said before, every event that happens, the less I take the following. When presenting the new reward system, I liked it, but over time I see that I lose all interest in the events, whereas before it was one of the things I liked. I hope I'm wrong, but I think this new system over time encouraged not to play events. I love the game, love the events, but I think this system does not encourage participation in it. Regards and sorry for my bad English. "Sorry for my bad English"

Sadly I'm not surprised by how terrible this is. GGG continues to prove how out of touch they are. The trend continues.

this race ain't worth doing for anyone who doesn't have time to invest in a full week, and even then it's not worth it unless you reach top 20.
GGG your prices were great for before open beta, the currency was something everyone looked forward to as something they could use. This is honestly kinda garbage. And here i thought you guys had it going well, changing so much from closed beta is just weird, you have now officially cleaved this, now there is no "ah well i get something useful at least. Nothing useful out of the races anymore, in my opinion, i'm better off farming maps on my HC character... back in closed beta i would try be in every race i was able to participate, even 1 week races, because there were means to get at least a set of lvls, and you do be getting some goodies you could use on your main toons afterwards, now there is NOTHING worth while, the amount of points you need for each "special" item is beyond the work you had to put in for the craft materials everyone needs. Please GGG, think this through again, the current race system is crap, the old one had something useful for everyone. I play games... shocked, i know. Последняя редакция: burgundy#7027. FAIL, after FAIL on GGG side... can't imagine if the imcomming melee boosing changes are so dissapointing too...
Why is this a party race when the first gets 60 pots and the 6th - 28pts??? And this joke about gettin 2 points to be in top 500 while investing tens and tens of hours when u can get 3 points for like 40 mins play in 1 hr races. SERIOUSLY WTF IS GOING ON? And ye, dumbasses that gonna quote me - let me be the "troll" once more, I'm fine with it. |

In the most recent 1 hour solo, #1035 got at least 3 points. Three points. For 1 hour. Getting position #1035.
In the 1 week party race, #500 gets 2 points. Two points. For 168 hours. And #501 gets nothing. If you equalized reward per unit time, #500 should be getting 504 points. It is simply more efficient to participate in all the little races that overlap with the 1 week. That's not the only problem, though. Even if the rewards increased by 1000% it wouldn't matter because the competition would increase and only a relatively small number of participants would get anything. I was really hoping to see fun and satisfying guaranteed rewards for making it to various level thresholds and surviving, so I could use the event to convince some friends to try the game. Something like 100 points for making it to level 70. Participating in a 1 week group race has to feel worthwhile. It shouldn't feel mandatory in the least, but it should definitely feel worthwhile. It should be somewhat competitive to the aggregrate of concurrent race options, with some certainty of reward for putting the time in, progressing, and suriving. Never underestimate what the mod community can do for PoE if you sell an offline client.

Holy shit people, calm down. Why would you be mad even if there was no rewards at all? We play these races for the fun of competing, don't we?

PoE is a great game, but this is just another thing that has me thinking races are complete shit.
