Having to purchase red maps, vaal & alch orbs

Well, tbh i cant get return from t10/11 too, even after vaaling/bloodlines/chisels/whatever.

So i switched to playing lab, maps are boring with that drop, and on full key ran which takes 20-30 minute max i get a lot of goods, which always return my invested time/offering.

Last night I depleted the last of my red maps, and actually now back to T8/9. I chiseled and vaaled most of them. Feels really bad at lvl 89. I refuse to buy them at the current prices either, if the return is going to just be right back where I started.
Map drops been nerfed over the past many years:

No more +2 from rare (They used to)
Beyond/Exile don't drop maps (They used to)
Map packs being "adjusted" across the years
Map mods nerf

And I only remember a couple things they did to buff map drop:
Map rate drop did get buffed, i want to say, 3 or 4 years ago
Map boss has a solid 20% chance to drop maps upon defeat.


I don't know how much of an effect the buff in map drop rate back in the days have anymore with all the nerfs listed above and the 20% chance for map to drop is still gated by RNG that you can get some t1/t2 out of a t11+ map which is in all honesty, the biggest bullshit ever.

And the way they keep stopping people from achieving lv100 by nerfing exp and map drops is just mind boggling as it is now known that getting lv100 is nothing as "special" as they think it is.

GGG has done nothing but give us more access, more player power and a faster leveling curve for years.

When I started playing PoE somewhat seriously (in Ambush League), we had courtyard and palace map with monster level 78 as the highest content available. That's pretty much today's courtyard. You see anyone chaining that form 80 to 100?

A build was considered "finished" at lvl 80. Build guides would tell you to spend further points in "whatever the f*** you want" because few people got past that point.
I was a god amongst humans with a lvl 91 ranger. ;)

Maybe you read the story of the first guy to make it to 100 to understand how the game looked like in the past.

And then compare it with today:
One month into a league, you're not even in ladder below lvl 92.

Of course GGG try to slow it down a bit. They have to.
They've given us so many tools since the atlas expansion, leveling has become a joke.

I just did t15 chiselled/corrupted map with 150quantity/63rarity/40packs with 122 atlas. I get 3 tier 7-8 maps, orb of chance, chaos, chisel end regal.

Back to the labirynth we go.

Was hosting 6-people group with chiseling, vaaling, 150 completed atlas, shaper-elder influenced and prey to rng gods.

No fucking way, red maps are not dropping at all, sometimes 3-4 runs in row. This is just plain stupid design of game, i don't want to run zillion of low-tier maps, i'm not farmer, i'm not no-lifer, I just want to get xp and boss killing in lategame.

Whoever sustains red maps with "play 100 tier 8 maps and move to 9" — fuck off, thats not the game I want. This league is really fucked up with maps/alchs. I've got my wings and have no any motivation for more challenges.
