I won't talk about how ridiculous some characters there are, with PvP scaling.
how they all gang up on you, and summon stuff out of thin air, and throw traps without cool-down. how it took an utterly broken PvP skill (Scorching Ray) for me to clear one section. No. that's not what I'm salty about. Somehow I beat a bunch of level 100s, and approach the shiny chest of "holy shit you actually won" awesomeness, and click it, and ... a fucking Fencoil? that's it? And? My last 6 shaper runs in a row, guy dropped only boots and gloves. Last HOGM run - final chest loot contained... 6 rare golden chests. Welcome to PoE.

Well, the most sought-after drops from HoGM are the divination cards and you get them only from the Grandmasters themselves. The rest is just added fluff.

I don't know. With my characters that don't get destroyed immediately there, I actually kill most waves almost instantly, except those max block aegis builds, for whom I have to switch to scorching ray and slowly kill them. For basically no challenge, I wouldn't expect much reward either... There is a reason why HOGM maps cost barely anything on the market.

Sometimes HOTG is good profit, sometimes its not. Its all RNG like any other ARPG. There is also only certain builds that can clear it, not every build is designed to do everything in the game.
Adapt and overcome or fail and cry on the forums. |

I'm not farming it for profit. I did it for the challenge, and I'm happy I finally made it to a chest.
The Grandmasters? they dropped wisdom scrolls not Divination Cards. it's like they are white tier1 map monsters, not uber-geared-to-the-teeth mini-bosses. and the chest dropping *that*... takes the cake. that's not RNG fuck I don't know what it is. Absolute zero loot from one of the hardest things in the game. at least give me a rare with item level equal to the Grandmaster's char level... " The issue with what you are asking, similar to all other content, is that somebody out there made a build designed for that map and can full clear it in a couple of minutes max. The reward is obviously balanced around that and not around your attempt. Easily solved by giving good loot on a first clear, then full RNG on subsequent clears.
They are probably doing that, in other places. Not to mention actual loot tables on things like Atziri, Elder and Shaper. and epic loot explosions in Uber Labyrinth. Hall Of Grandmasters is BS. inb4 someone links a Mirror from a Grandmaster or a chest... ...yeah well same chance of dropping that in a white map. I bet the white map has a higher chance.
