The problem about HoGM is that the max block regen chars pretty much reduce build diversity to clear that map to just scorching ray.

I recently tried that map the first time with my flashback totem hierophant.
At this point i was already finished with the league and just wanted to give it a try cuz i never tried this map before. So obviously i got absolutely crushed and was like: wow i didn`t expect this level of difficulty from a t12 map. So I decided to try it with my main chars on standard cuz I wanted to see what they are capable of. Made it only to the 2nd area boss switching between my phys cyclone ascendant and life rf jugg. Those chars are capable of running t15 maps pretty smooth btw. So being salty and kinda mad about that i googled it and found an old thread on these forums where ppl basically said (and op kinda confirms it) that normal chars are just useless for this map and u need heavily optimized pvp chars to be successful which end up being rather useless for normal gameplay. Now my real problem with this map is that it is a t12 map, and in my opinion it is way too difficult for that tier. I think a map like this should be t15 or t16 even. HOGM was no problem for my Burning Spectres Summoner. Used Tokuhama vanguard spectres who drop scorching ray totems. Shit just got rekt. I was kinda surprised how easy the map was. I didn't even have a 6L when I did the map. Just a 5L. GC miner can probably beat it with a 3L.

My only problem with it: its not a PvP area (death-wise). So unless you are on a broken build you better not even try it in HC leagues if you arent willing to lose your character to some mirror-tier bullshit.

It doesn't give you anything because difficulty isn't a measure of risk.
You cannot risk anything in the game that you're supposed to infinite farm the same content over and over, while it getting easier over time. With literally 0 risk other than maybe xp which is a function of time. The only debate would be if it isn't rewarding enough for the difficulty, which it apparently is since people build entire characters just to farm it for money. Also what "Reward" would you want really from this. Vast majority of decent items are pretty cheap, and if you were going to farm hall of grandmaster on a noncheese build. Chances are you have a decked out character so you don't really need anything anyway. This isn't a single player game, you would have a kaom's heart or belly of the beast before going into the map to fight them. If you do then your additional copies wouldn't matter (if playing SSF), and if want to sell it then would have to factor in the economy anyway thus can't drop every time. Otherwise it would be "worthless" to be dropped since you can just buy one easily. Risk vs reward is applicable to something with permanence as well with opportunity cost.
