It only shows those using the steam client.
Some ppl claim that this is a minority.

You can do the math yourself.

Edit: Typos

thanks for the link 1 doubt that 00:00 time has highest amount of players and 12:00 (on 42 hours format chart) any idea on what timezone is it?
It is showing your timezone and it peaks if daytime/playtime in EU and north america overlap.

Edit: Added "playtime" :)
Let's explore new playstyles - Play it your own way, not just like the others.

Well Incursion had a 55-60% drop in 3 weeks. I would say their player retention plans are working.

Incursion also had an extra 20k players on launch day, let's not forget.
Why would you assume everyone is leaving because of the changes to delve?

The game is MASSIVE for new players, it's really hard to maintain new players that reach a certain level of progression and then get stuck, dropping off the league.

I see so many experienced players saying tons of things, forgetting that they're probably the minority, the game is full of casuals like me. Most of us have to verify the item and look it up in poe trade, while you have people that can tell you the name of the item by just looking at the model.

This is the first league i dedicate a few houndred hours and enjoy, the last league i played i reached lvl 82 and felt like an accomplishment, whilst i see people reaching that lvl in less than 2 days (in hour terms, probably less than 1 day)

So yeah, don't expect every single player to stay on the game, and remember most of us don't even know about this Leagues you all talk about and compare. It's just a complicated game that people will try out at the beginning and then drop when you see you should follow a guide for your first build, that you have so many websites and things you gotta have and verify in order to progress (Poe Ninja, Currency, Vorici calculator, Poe trade, download PoB and learn how it works, download loot filter and understand it's different levels).

Really, exp'd players do this automatically, but all this is probably A LOT to add to the already complex game, or the surprise you get when you see the Passive skill tree and how big it is.

And i didn't even mention how many builds you can make, boss killer or fast mapping, differents way of farming currency and items, and really i can keep going on why this players that leave are NOT leaving because of DELVE or anything else, but just because this beautiful game is huge and not everyone can bear with it.
Delve has so much more staying power than incursion which felt over after the fourth week.

Check out my LA build: 1782214
I enjoy being part of the development process. That's pretty cool. But I wish loot and drops were cut down by half and that would be better for retention. Also delve to be cut by 100% if that makes sense..... Make it longer to acquire items and challenging. Also I wish the leagues never ended. Only you can not join a league after the new league releases.

Played Incursion to the last day. This league lost me on day 1.
Organic chemistry is a weird thing. If you add a spoon of shit to a barrel of jam you'll get a barrel of shit.
I guess this is what happens when you start a league right after a major WoW expansion release...

33% dropoff after 3 weeks.

Think it might have to do anything with the fact that you're still in the process of designing the core mechanics of your great new feature?

Play the league. Then you can make snark comments about the mechanics of it.
Player retention isn't a term they use day by day or even month to month. It's paycheck to paycheck. If they made as much selling Delve supporter as they did selling incursion packs, it's all good with them.
