What's going on with the POE Reddit mods? 40+ submissions shadow-removed in last 24 hours

Was following up on current game problem where users are being logged into other players accounts (started a day or two ago there are bug reports about it here already) when a mate pointed out the Reddit mods are imploding over the issue, censoring users and comments about it.

Noticed the mods over there really laying into a few commenters in specific, so I thought Id do a bit of looking into the mod claims of not censoring users or shadow-removing posts, as the commentors in question could well be trouble making (You can search logs of removals here for urself if u interested: https://snew.notabug.io/r/pathofexile).

Well low and behold, nope the commenters weren't kidding, the sneaky mods have been on a tear in the last 24 hours deleting or shadow removing 40+ submissions without providing and reason/notice/clarification to any of the users who made the submissions, including all the submissions about the bug - Examples:

The mods were initially silent on the issue for a day, then after being called out denied doing anything, then one admitted what they did by mistake. They started rolling out the excuses until one of them denied censoring discussion or submissions, only for another to then confirm that not only that's what did happen - they now have a policy to shadow remove everything "to reduce trouble". What on earth are they doing, this will explode in their faces horribly. Who shadow removes all of a subreddit's content by default?

Their policy isn't to shadow remove things to reduce trouble. It's to reduce 50 topics of the same content. They always leave one as the main discussion.

My post is specific and different to theirs.

The three examples I linked too as examples are all contextually different, too.

Yet at the same time, their appears to be up to 5-10 shitposts of the same subject, console questions of the same topic, crafting questions of the same topic an others too left untouched.

They are clearly removing content in mass for no balanced reason and were caught misleading users about it.

This is 100% censorship.
It is the most outrageous security issue I have ever heard of in POE and the amount of silence about it is strange.
Instead we get bombarded with PR, scarabs and pictures of their office.
Usually I love these kinds of posts, but now I just want them to comment on the goddamn account security instead of burying it under PR spin.

i really disgust reddit and i don't understand why GGG keeps posting there.

There are two posts regarding the matter on the front page of the sub for transparency.

Everything else is duplicates so is being removed, no censorship there. If you encounter this issue take it to support.

That being said, WHEW what a bug.

We remove that many posts every day. According to our logs we've removed 391 in the past week. Business as usual for any sub the same size, I'd imagine.

As mentioned above, in this case it's all about clearing up duplicate posts. There's a front page thread about this bug already, and w don't really see the point of having multiple posts about it rather than keeping everything in the same thread. Same as when the servers die and we delete all but one of the dozen-plus "RIIIIIP" threads that inevitably pop up. Having so many identical discussion threads is just messy and confusing. We tend not to apply the same to question and answer threads, just because they are meant for a single person to get the info they need rather than for multiple users to discuss things.

I think you're trying to push the story that we're conspiring with GGG to cover up problems. If that's what you believe then it's not like I can say anything that will dissuade you, since you'll just think I'm lying. But honestly I'm as confused as anyone else as to why GGG hasn't said anything about this issue. There was an emergency maintenance session about half an hour after the patch that introduced the bug, and I assume that fixed the problem and sorted out all the affected accounts. But we just don't know, and boy is that lack of certainty freaking people out.

There is a bug at the moment that lets people log into other peoples´ accounts and use their characters? And the servers are still online??

That's exactly what I meant above! Pretty sure the bug was fixed quite quickly because there was emergency unscheduled maintenance shortly after it was discovered last night, but GGG didn't confirm that and hasn't said anything since. Haven't heard any new reports of the bug since then, so I'm pretty sure it got fixed, but some confirmation from GGG would be grand.
