well the cooldown is to spells of the same name. so if you only have one spell linked you're kinda screwing yourself if you attack too fast because you have to wait the cooldown.

if i do a CoC build in 3.5 it'll be CoCslam for sure. it was by far the best CoC build i tried, out of many.
not sure what spells i'll wanna do with it. i'll wait for the cold spell revamp info, as they could work out pretty well.

Blade flurry with either magma orb or ice spear. Or ice nova, using cospri's malice to cast some frostbolts for that sweet overlap.

Another idea would be quill rain barrage and ice spear. Heck, let's throw in another ice spear on asenath's chant. Screw it, let's go for full computer melting mode and use hrimburn and eye if innocence to trigger some cwdt stuff. And the add the VMS rat cage combo for good measure.

as a HC player, I'm waiting til GGG release a new unique chest with 100 hp and "gain charges on crit".

Just like voll's chest, but with life.

In the past before ES nerfs we could play discharge with voll's and 10k ES on HC.

Now it's a dead build, you can't survive playing shadow/life/discharge/cyclone on hardcore with 5k HP.

You'll be fine til 90 but whenever you run a damage mod in a T11+ map you'll be one shotted. I say for my own experience. I ripped like 4x shadows like this and gaved up. =(

Atleast discharge still dead on HC. But we may be able to play some other Coc-spell. Let's check patch notes.

terminus est flicker coc with bv/ek/bf and kaom's. maybe go poison also

I'm going to try and revive my old Spectral Throw CoC Ranger from 1.3.1. I'm not too confident it will be viable but am going to try anyway...there's probably better ideas I could try but that was most fun I've ever had with a build so we'll see how it goes.

If the recent reddit thread about molten burst getting a second CoC cooldown is true, then I think cyclone ngamahu's flame blade vortex may end up being incredible with AoF. Permanent max-stack uptime while never standing still... won't be that hard. And aside from CoC itself, you can arrange the support gems so that they all affect all 3 skills (certainly Increased Critical Strikes among them... probably elemental focus and conc effect).

imo this could end up being the best way to wear kaom's on a ngamahu's build (since usually ngamahu's is relegated to treat the weapon skill and the chest totally separately)

I had similar idea, but when I'm watching Frost Blades and Ice Spear video, I fill like the range will be too short.
And even if it's not, you would have to keep that distance from melee bosses.

Note that as someone else pointed out before, Cyclone and Blade Vortex actually work very poorly together. Blade Vortex, when built up, outranges Cyclone and kills everything before your Cyclone can get to it and crit enough to maintain your Vortex stacks, so the Blade Vortex either stacks only once or twice and does piss damage, or it starves itself of the CyCloC crits it needs to deal not-piss damage.

if you want to do that build more properly, CyCloC > Ngamahu's Flame > EK Nova, rather than Vortex, would probably be the ticket. Admittedly that means you're a Cyclone build and as every right-thinking Path of Exile player knows, Cyclone is the worst skill ever invented in all of video gaming history and everyone who touches it is worse than Stalin, but if you're willing to be worse than Stalin, then that would probably be an amusing build to run. Do a Lightpoacher for jollies, get CyCloC, Ngamahu, EK Nova and Spirit Burst going for all the screen clutter.

Provided you're willing to be worse than Stalin, at least.

I think lancing steel will be an excellent CoC trigger and you can probably craft some pretty sweet CoC foils quite easily with fossils. Plus it’s lycosidae compatible.

My main issue with CoC builds is getting adequate defense though. I feel I always spend all my points on crit just to get reasonable damage...

A scion or assasin with Shield charge + plus arc or blade fall or Ek with his jewel (AoE)
