is varunastra best in slot for most 1 hand melee builds?
I think all the 1h unique weapons are pretty much shit at this point arnt they?
They were never as good as rares, but good rares are easier to come by than ever. There was a time when getting a 250 pdps rare 1h weapon was actually fairly hard, those days are long gone. Theyre all pretty much starter weapons surely? Or really budget things where ur basically just gonna stop at starter gear. Even an oni goroshi... I mean it looks pretty, thats about the best thing u can do with it I think. I have one and I use it as a skin on a proper sword, thats the place it deserves in actual set of great gear. As far as uniques are concerned, Ahn's Might is uncontested. Oni-Goroshi is better for some builds, but because of the way it works and how limiting it can be, I don't think I could say it's the best, even if the few builds it works in are.
Depending on your roll, especially depending on the quality of the weapon, dual wielding Ahn's Might's and using a Pacifism jewel rival 400+ pdps rare foils and using a decent jewel. |

" You can achieve 8 hit per sec with ahn's might and double strike. With a proper setup and the vaal skill, it's far from a slow thing. You clean very fast, whirling bade though the map and melt bosses in seconds. |

" If you're playing as a Juggernaut, the accuracy more than makes up for it. Onslaught and Blood Rage up I'm sitting at over 10 attacks per second, and then for single target I use Ancestral Protector which gets me to around 12, and if I felt like using a vaal haste it'd be even more. For reference, my character has around 12,000 accuracy. |

the downside of slow weapons isnt just about the end speed tho right? Regardless of how fast they end up with scaling its always that much slower than a fast weapon and thats effecting how often flat added damage from other sources is being applied per second. So a 400pdps fast weapon will end up netting you more damage than a 400pdps slow weapon.
I think GGG should have slanted base weapon damage a lot more towards slower weapons to offset the way a fast weapon with the same rolls ends up getting more onboard dps from them and then gets more out of external sources of flat added damage. Ahn gives you 50 critmult, there really isn't any reason to get a rare over it.
30% quality goes over 380 pDps. A 500pDps foil could sort of beat it out by lie 6-8% if you had abyssus and t1 phys rolls everywhere. Same for a 440-450 pDps foil with hits can't be evaded, but ain't nobody is going to spend 10 ex+ crafting a weapon when you can get upgrades elsewhere for the same price or less. And when you are done with your crit+maim elder chest, then vaaling near perfect roll 28% quality ahns in hopes of local inc phys seems like a much more viable option to get a weapon upgrade. |
