I forgot to add in the clarity aura i will fix the links and spreadsheets when i wake up, the build which you will be able to refund 1x 15% elemental resist while holding a shield, which will mean a astral plate is not required, or you can use a astral plate and remove the 1 point in Elemental Resistances 6%

This is my modified Wand Templar build that I am going with my Templar, I did not play closed beta much so I am taking my time and leveling slowly. This is a very defensive passive build with 66% all res from passive skills.

Item Needs:

Chest: Astral Plate with 9% or higher all res [(implicit mod) to cap out all res]

Neck 1(preferred): 18+ Onyx Amulet (allows level 10 Lesser Multiple Projectiles if you can get a +19 onyx it will be level 11 which means there is a 10% damage penalty.)

Neck 2: Any amber Amulet

The reason for the neck is so you can use the Astral plate with a 180 Required Strength

Shield: Colossal Tower Shield, for maximum armor

Possible Changes

I am thinking of Changing out 1 of the 8% life for a 8% chaos resist

If you are running Endurance and can have 3 or more charges constantly you can remove 1x Elemental resistances with shields or 2or more constantly you will not require a astral plate.

Notes

The main difference people will most likely look at is 42% more life with rips build but mine has 60% more armor. (I currently do not know which is better ehp wise)

Early on I suggest getting slaughter or swash buckler to be able to get the +20 dex (refund these skills later.)

You can play as Kripparian did two-hander at the start or play with a wand/mace and shield and use ice nova/firestorm. I am currently level 25 and cant afford the mana cost of (lesser multiple projectiles-weapon elemental damage-power siphon) so i am still using ice nova/firestorm.]
