Is it safe to say that this is the "MMO" for me

I hate MMOs with subs and I am not that friendly I mean I kind of like to be alone while I play but at the same time be part of something big. Is it safe to say that if I invest more time in PoE, I will get the experience where I want to play alone while I have to option and feeling that I am connected or part of something big? I am kind of turned off by MMOs having the need to have friends or a party so I was wondering if I invest more time in this it is worth it because its the experience I am looking for?

You should check what MMO means. This is not an MMO but a very good game.

I added "MMO" because I know its not but yet I kind of see it like it because of the option to be a part of something big. I was just curious if its possible to solo it because MMOs or other online games needs friends and unfortunately I don have the luxury of friends

Sounds reassuring! I hate games that says you could survive solo but throws some cheap difficulty in order for you to group up. OK, I just want a torchlight experience ( that other "game" is already dead to me so I will use torchlight from now on) experience but darker and has the option of being part of something big while you wont get nickle and dimed every step of the way like that other game.

Technically, it's very much an MMO. It might not be your standard MMORPG but it's an MMO nonetheless.

@OP - This game allows you the option of almost removing yourself completely from the 'community' part when you so wish. Chat can be hidden, and all game content can be completed soloing. The game is also instanced, so any area where you're killing mobs is going to be just you if you so choose.

If at any time you decide you want to venture forth and become more social, you have the ability - but you're not required to party and you're not required to interact with anyone.

I would not call this a true MMO. Yes, You will always have the OPTION to group with others, but the game will never force you to. And you will see others in town, but you you don't have to talk to another soul if you choose.

This is a Action Role Playing Game with Online gameplay. You can do very well in this game and play alone. Just hide chat and you'll do fine. Although, you will need to converse at least moderately if you wish to trade with other players.

This is a very challenging game that rewards you for playing it well and time invested. I really think if you like ARPG's and you like working to build a character in a way you like, you will love this game. This game is difficult but Fair. And this game will reward those who work at it.

They aren't telling us how to have fun, they are giving the players the tools to have fun themselves and still be challenged IMO You found a great game! You will do fine here imo :)I'm a loner too, but I find that even loners find nice people with a common interest and come out of their shell a bit. Either way, as long as YOU are having fun.

The game is designed(or, at least, they say it is) in a way that it incentives group play, while is 100%, with no diminishable returns, playble in solo.
