1.3 [Newbie Friendly] GROUNDSLAMMER BUILD

What about cwdt+end cry+enfeeble? Always keeping endurance charges and cursing enemies to deal less damage. But it sounds too good so I think that because of so much reduced damage taken cwdt doesn't cast anymore.


Edit: just tried it out and it still tirggers when fighting groups. All I wonder now is if I should level enfeeble since I have 63 int.
I have had my fill of words and tearful farewells. I desire blood and cries of our enemy.

cwdt+end cry+enfeeble is the most popular combo. Personally I use that too with lvl 1 cwdt and lvl 5 end cry and lvl 5 enfeeble.

First of all, in response to some things stated:

1)Eladir what you plan for using BoR sounds ok, try it if you can, LastMF used it and he was 2H (all his gear before he changed to using a Bow in page 287).
The 200+ Life the BoR has offsets any loss from helm+chest stats in HP, if you have IR you don't lose much AR (if not and no Auras either then i guess you will lose a noticeable amount), the big issue i see is the res, you will really need expensive 3-res GG-gear on belt/gloves/boots to compensate...
Still personally i am not sure if the benefits are worth it:
Sure you get a bit more DPS, but even that is debatable in high lvls, because by then you can probably afford lvl20 and/or Q20 gems, much better than the lvl18/no-Q the BoR has build in, and 5L stuff isn't that expensive (at lest compared to 6L ones).
And still you get the 15% Block Chance and the EndCharge on Block, but 15% on it's own isn't much imo... I agree with skarbziemi on that, 1H+Shield builds get the most out of that helm (plus you get tons of AR and Block Chance from a good Shield).
Damn you Legacy 140ex-worth Soul Taker, ~400DPS from 1H and no mana issues for attacks!

2)More non-accurate and totally un-verified calcs on add fmg gems:
Using 3-4 support gems with all phys dmg: 15.3K DPS
Using a lvl1 AddFireDmg (20% of phys into fire): ~18.3K DPS (20% DPS increase)
Using a lvl20 AddFireDmg (39% of phys to fire): ~21.2K DPS (39% inc from all-phys)
Using 15.3K allPhys + Ming's (20% into Chaos) : ~18.3K DPS
Using lvl20 addFire (21.2K) + Ming's ring : 24.2K DPS (14% increase with Ming's)
*again note that Chaos dmg goes strait to HP, plus it's not reflected by any map mods. Also note that leech from all gear stats is from the phys portion of you dmg only (only leech from LL gem is from the whole of your dmg)

3)If your only CwDT-EndCry-ImmortalC gems are in one link, you will never get any charges from EndCry: they will pop the moment they are created by the ImmortalC... My personal suggestion would be also to keep ImmortalC "manual", even though personally i don't use it (tried it though).
Enfeeble is great for Bosses/hard Rares, 25-35% less dmg is a huge amount!
The best for CwDT imo is to have two of them, one "low" and one "high", but that is a luxury and it takes many slots, so not all people can do (or should do) that...


Now, since i got to lvl88 and have 2 unused skill points atm, i would like to ask you what do you think i could do with 2-4 points (i think i'll make it to lvl90), without any respecs (or more than 2-3).
Maybe i will end up respecing IR and get 5p from that, but i have soooo many ideas of my own if i go there or further in respecs.

I'm not sure about Unwavering Stance, it's like Frozen: very rare and no issue in some cases, could cause a death in others. Maybe one point is worth is after all, idk :/

I don't think i need more AR increase, so life or DPS is preferred. 26K HS is "ok" but 13K GS is pretty low, still these can be improved by other means.

I have pretty much no more res nodes to respec (maybe 1p from Diamond Skin), and i don't see anything good close.
Savagery is only 1p, maybe i could try that with Blood Rage again, but i wasn't too keen of BR the first time i tested it...
I could go for Vigor (+1 EndChard) or maybe 10-20% more life, but small potatoes there too (even with the 3% Auras buff if i go for Holy Strength).
Mana Flows is pretty "meh" also i think, not much it can offer at this point for me.
Shaper is pretty "meh" and no other useful nodes around (i don't care for EE or the 0.4% Rege and Inner Force is too far to take).
Could go for Sovereignty with a few respec points, but i don't need a 3rd Aura and 99% it won't be enough to run 2 Auras plus both GS and HS from mana (w/o any other changes).

This is the less painful i can come up with. Yea, i cheated and respeced IR, but i don't see anything i like without doing that, that's why i sit with 2 unallocated points xD


I know, i expect miracles from 2-3p, but i could be missing something!

I found unwavering stance to be worth it as, I can run maps with vunerability (the mod that increases stun chance on us) or what ever it is.

I'm gonna try BoR out when I can afford it, hopefully I can recover the missing resistances elsewhere and it's worth it. I'd also like to try a respec for Vaal Pact later, give a new feel to the char.

As for your respec, I agree with what you are thinking of doing, it's probably the best. A big benefit will probably the ability to run Blood Rage which adds a nice boost to LS and attack speed if you can stand the chaos dot.

My suggestion would be to remove the 2 reduced crit dmg points and get +10STR and +15% damage on start of Marauder.
Somehow im using glaciar hummer, if i change to heavy strike

gh is 75%phyx 50%cold
and hs is 150%phys

how does affect the 50% on cold dmg? only towards freeze the enemy?
Well i have tried out BloodR before and i did it today too (lvl17 gem), but the DPS boost gained is kinda small (for the HP "degen" cost) really:
GS 13.13K, HS 26.72 with only Hatred
GS 13.56 and HS 27.33 with 1 charge
GS 13.98 and HS 27.94 with 2 charges
GS 14.41 and HS 28.48 with 3 charges
It would be a bit more if i took the +1 Charge node, but i don't think it's such a great way to boost my DPS, not if you pay with HP when there are other ways to boost DPS without the survivability cost.

And i like the two Crit nodes, imo 15% less Crit dmg is worth a node. However i had these nodes since lv20, so i really can't compare with/without them :/

What do you think I should upgrade first and when?

Once I hit lvl 57 I will switch to this weapon:

I want to take the following nod clusters and complete the build at about lvl 80 - 82:

1. life circle near path of warrior - 6 pts - +52% life

2. above sentinel - 3 pts - +18% to ice, fire and cold res

3. berserking - 3 pts - +21% IAS

4. smashing blows - 6 pts - +36% life, +42% dmg, +6% IAS

5. discipline & training, enforcer, amplify - 11 pts (shorter route) - +60 str, +10 int, +10 dex, +26% life, +30 life, +18% dmg, +12% increased AoE, +8% AoE dmg

6. skull cracking - 3 pts - +48% dmg, +16% armor.

Once I get better equipment I can respec out of the 3 res nodes above sentinel.

The problem is, however, I am not really sure in what order I should take the 6 above mentioned skill clusters; what first, what last?

And there is armor issue remaining of course - atm my armor value is low (about 700) - maybe later it will get higher so about lvl 75 I should grab a few strong armor nods?

Could you guys offer some insights into what prioritize and why (bearing in mind my 6 pts list above + armor issue)?

I am leaning towards smashing blows (6 pts) and discipline / enforcer / amplify (11 pts) as they offer combinations of important stats (for me).

Once level 80 and higher I will again consider what to take but from what I read it is extremaly difficult to reach higher levels so lvl 80 is a reasonable expectation, I guess.

Is anyone running this with Infernal Blast instead of Heavy Strike? i've been told a lot of people are kicked out of groups rolling with HS. (level 62 currently..)

Also, what flasks do people like to run with at 60+ in Merc act 3?
