1.3 [Newbie Friendly] GROUNDSLAMMER BUILD

Hi, is Blood Magic still a good option for this build?
I am asking this because is see a lot of people, in their variation builds, moving away from Blood Magic and picking up some form of mana sustain/regen

BM is a good option, just not the best...

If you don't need it then respec it. Start using Aura and profit from it.

Just tried getting rid of Blood Magic, and you're totally right about it being better. Hatred is a huge dps boost, naturally, I'm just shocked that I can manage on so little mana/mana regen/mana leech. Bonus: taking Mana Flows instead of Blood Magic frees up a skill point! I sometimes run into mana issues, particularly with single enemies, but it's not a huge deal with mana flasks. I imagine it will get better when I can increase my intelligence/mana/dps.

I don't remember when I last used my mana flask :) Maybe it is time to switch it to chaos resist flask.

Now try Pact of Vall (if You don't have it yet).
It cost lots of regrets to respec those life regen points, but You may love it (depends on how much life leech you have).

Imagine leeching your whole life in one second, fighting only 2 monsters :)
Leeching ~2000-3000Hp per second may help greatly in boss fight.

My main is ground slammer templar, level 80, and it works very well. I used BM until level 76, then I take auras. I run 2 auras (solo: Hatred and Vitality; group with friends: Haste or Grace + Vitality). My build is particular for a reason: I went to Iron Reflexes, because I wear Carcass Jack.

Here is my build:



2 tips:

Get a Carnage Heart, this is really a key item for this build.


At the beginning, go straight to BM by the simpliest way, then go close to the marauder tree and take Faith and Steel. Then respect the useless points.

I made this because of the mana regen; at the beginning, you cannot spam your skills without BM. So, in order to be more comfortable with my gameplay, I've rushed BM very quickly, even if I should respec points early in game.

And how do you sustain mana? I noticed that you didn't take Mana Flows, so do you simply use mana leech? If so, how much leech do you have?

I can sustain mana with these gloves



and I use Warlord's mark as curse, that gives me 3 others % mana leech. so I'm at 5% physical leeched in mana.

I just have some difficulties on maps where the regen is 50% slower. I have to spam my hybrid flask and take my time between packs of mobs.

I want to thank everyone who helped me when I had questions before. The build is going great and I am using a culler right now to get the currency to get some elite equipment.

I plan on respeccing some to get amplify. Following that I think it is time to lose blood magic and start to run an aura or two. I was hoping with some suggestions for that.

An equipment note, I tried swapping my belt out with a Meginord's and there was barely any change to HP or DPS.

What is the diffrence in your DPS with Abyssus and without it??

hard to say. I am doing 12.3k heavy strike with it. If I take it off, I can't wear my gear. ;)
