Alt+F4 has a delay, you NEVER want to use Alt+F4 in hardcore in a near-death situation, you want to log out to the character selection screen, that effectively logs you out immediately without the delay Alt+F4 causes.

I've never played hardcore and even I know this, so why is everyone else so uninformed?

It would be so easy to fix by just leaving characters idle for 10-20 seconds if they log out in an area that is not town.

I play Hardcore and I never used "alt"+"F4".

I do not trust the connection will really end fast enough. I always used "ESC" and click on "Exit Path of Exile" if I want to leave the game.


Even if it is possible to leave with Alt + F4, its better then to die threw the whole game as it is possible in Softcore. And you can not put all skill-points and gems to offensive because you die one hit if you do not have much life. So you need to play much more defensive.
