Join up the Scion starting nodes please!

I understand OP's frustration but the proposed solution is dull and won't shake anything.

If a build gets near Scion, or through, for point efficiency POV, you are better just rolling scion.

Scion has 3 pairs of exits in three directions, while 'specialised' classes have only one pair aimed to the edge of the skill forest.


Short term (races) other classes lack diverse options. Long term (lvl 70+) you want best point/stats efficiency to get around wanted defenses and keystones.


Then GGG makes some database queries and sees: most scions; most iron reflexes; life nodes most taken.


On top of all scion is kinda out of place with her model catwalk animations and character. What kinda PoE player type can relate to that character?


I for one used scion only as ragdoll for getting my way around races easier.

Not necessarily. There are many builds that may end up taking inner circle Scion nodes, but which spend most of their development centered around one or more of the original six character clusters.

Considering the proximity of clever construction to the scion area I'm 80% confident I can come up with a scion version that's better than a shadow version!

For my summoner witch I could have started scion and get those life nodes much earlier. I am at lvl 78, bit over 2k HP and crawling to get every next point +hp in that circle. Given the spread of minion and aura nodes, being in center sure helps. Eventually getting to the witch area for minion nodes would have made a better progression, IMO.

But then I would have hated myself playing a cakewalk model for summoner. Witch is more in character with everything.

So if I die because too little HP, so be it. I'd rather propose move scion to the north area, and swap places with witch. Let it rot in that dead part of the tree. And then think about merging some nodes in center for easier traveling.

Simple solution, not the best I guess, but that would help a lot already for some builds.

Actually, after looking at the tree again, I'm not convinced that breaking the 3 defense circles will help much. If the starting nodes are not changed/joined, the scion will still be preferable because of the proximity and easy access to not just the keystones but also the very attractive starting notables

Maybe putting more nodes in the Scion's 3 starting cluster : currently 3 nodes to pass through, buff it to at least 5 or 6 with interesting effects but with low values for it would make it more expensive, and thus bi-specs would need 4~6 more points already ( 3-specs 6~9 ), which would make a difference.
