Do you think PoE needs a "Loot 2.0" overhaul?
" Well I'm not going to defend D3, because I am still pissed off at what a piece of shit vanilla was. That being said, PoE's item progression almost caps out at around 200 hours. Everyone just keeps saying "dude your items are done, just reroll". My last 400 hours have literally not gotten me a single upgrade, so the grind just became pointless. I'm pretty open minded, so if RoS is good, I won't let my stubbornness get in the way of enjoying it. I guess we'll see what happens. | |
PoE needs a massive balance overhaul that is all.
Act3x makes act 1/2 of the next difficulty faceroll = ? *confuse deluxe edition* Item progression at early game is to ramped up = massive carrots to close to another, making everything that follows from that point "feel" unrewarding. Rename currency to "chips" so people at least realize it is a lotto/gamble and not a crafting system. normal/cruel/start merciless are already faceroll. There is absolutely no reason to not make it FUN + FACEROLL. Atm it's just faceroll = borring, specially your 25th time running it. Endgame = exactly that = endgame. The "hardcore" within PoE should be located in the "endgame". There is no reason to not make the "normal content" fun to play, while still retaining the "hardcore endgame". A concept GGG refuses to adapt imo. These are all issue's with player perception that are easily changed without numbing down the game. Another thing GGG does not seem to understand. " This roughly equals my experience with D3 Inferno SF (post nerf) and SF MP10 :-) ~300 hours. In the end, it all depends on how hard or faceroll Torment 6 will be. Последняя редакция: CCR5#7770. Время: 27 янв. 2014 г., 06:38:24

Absolutely not. There's nothing that PoE can learn from that horrible trash that is D3 or it's well-marketed expansion for the fanboys to milk even more money.
PoE's item system is godlike versus any other item system in any other game at the moment. And that's a fact. Do not touch/ruin it. |

" This summarizes my main gripes with PoE. Be ready. You're not paranoid, you're PREPARED.
I quit this game every few months and so should you to continue playing it in the future. The device is believed to have been dropped |

PoE is actually the spiritual successor of Diablo 3.
It's just that some people are too stupid to see that the Auction House is just a symptom of the disease, not the main problem. When night falls

If you want guaranteed access to "BiS" loot for your "build", then go play an MMO, where that is the norm. Go farm for your tokens to take to the vendor and get your shiny.
Why so many players have such an issue dealing with the reality that progressing a character into map-readiness (then pushing that toon beyond level 85) is supposed to be a challenge, is totally beyond me. The challenge is in optimizing your build, in all areas, through passives/skills/supports/gear to effectively handle content that is going to yield exp and a chance at even more powerful gear. Asking for streamlined gear optimization is, IMO, the lazy way past problem-solving the optimization question. Agonizing over stats as you scour your stash in order to eek out some more min/max is something intended. It's all part of the challenge. I think too few players understand the concept of "diminishing returns" as it relates to higher end optimization. Beyond a certain point, you can't really become much more of a demigod. Being almost omnipotent does not mean you will be invincible though, and too many players forget this in their hubris. IMO, there are greater issues with what I see as player's unrealistic expectations of what they want the loot/craft/gamble system in PoE to be. Rather than doing the problem-solving themselves in order to optimize, these players want a crutch. TL/DR: No, there is nothing wrong with the loot in PoE. |

" Yeah - OK. But no. You are wrong there. PoE took ARPG and made it better. If PoE CAN NOT have anything to do with D3 - because D3 is bad - Then why is PoE an ARPG? Look - PoE is ace. It really is. And I've quit EvE Online for this PoE. But the lack of any in game trade facilitation system - maybe not an Auction House per-se - maybe something else that Chris will design. But the lack of any assistance in trade listings is bad. Fix that = less need to make self found viable. Or fix self found viability if you really can not have AH because of D3. You all seem so fixated on D3 for some reason?. But to fix self found you'd need to make it so that I can get at least enough Chaos to roll my own unique items. Because right now I vendor absolutely everything. What else am I to do. Stand at A3M shouting in trade WTS {some random rare}. No. I vendor it. And vendoring things doesn't give you Chaos. And if you come back with the stock answer. Everything is fine. Self found is fine. Then why are so many people saying it's not? If you are rich in this game. Then yeah - you wanna stay rich and to do that you need to stop others getting ahead. But that isn't a reason to kill off the game - and yes the atrophy rate is high - I'm the last of three people who tried the game when it released on Steam from my group of friends. They will all come back for Act 4. But one I know wants an AH. And we all think the loot drops are bad. And we dont refer to "Crafting" in PoE at all. So to the OP. No PoE doesn't need Loot 2.0 It does need some for of trade facilitation. That also means non-face-to-face transactions. Or else we'll still just have to Vendor everything. And if the "purists" can not have the evil AH. Then self found needs to become viable. And that means the rate of Chaos orb drops has to go up. Or "Crafting" needs to be considered more. |

And then when enough people get these items, they get bored and eventually quit.. You need to keep something for the players to strive for..
