Crossbows being heavy on DEX and a little INT is a intriguing idea, curious, why though?
Perhaps 1h crossbows could require heavy DEX and a little INT whilst 2h crossbows would require more STR and less DEX?, feels like a more interesting balance this way since wands require all INT and bows require all DEX, crossbows in this way would be filling in the holes.
Disagree with your suggestion.

The gameplay reason for giving bows a small amount of a non-Dex requirement is to diversify sockets while Chroming. That's the main reason.

The flavor reason for giving bows a small Str requirement was already given — with mechanical assistance, pulling on a crossbow string requires some effort. The flavor reason for giving crossbows (both versions) a small Int requirement is that crossbows are actually contraptions — like guns, they have a trigger you pull to fire. Understanding how contraptions work, with Intelligence, would allow you to use them better.

why not if a new class comes out, and begins with guns
Seeing how tree is hexagonal we'll need at least one more class (3 in center, 6 on edges)
I vote for psychic/telepath xD
And worst change is putting almost all bosses in new version of maps into fucking small areas, where you can't kite well or dodge stuff. What a terrible idiot invented that I want say to him: dude flick you, seriously flick you very much.
Pistols and rifles. Magically reloaded.

Default attack: one bullet, 100% physical damage

Pistols: one-handed, can block when duel wielded, less damage, less accurate, higher rate of fire.

Rifles: two-handed, can block, more damage, more accurate, longer reload time.

Used with gun gems that spawn different types and patterns of projectiles.
Buckshot: x% reduced projectile damage, adds 'y' more projectiles
Ricochet: chains or deflects off walls and objects upto x times, -x% damage per deflection
Burning Shot: Adds x% of physical damage as fire damage
Exploding Shot: Explodes on impact damaging nearby enemies
Frozen Shot: Adds x% physical damage as cold damage, pierces upto 3 enemies
Charged Shot: x% of physical damage converted to lightening damage, 3 bolts hit nearby ememies on impact

Support gems:
Semi Automatic: fires x additional times per attack
Increased reload

Couldn't a gun be added as a unique bow/wand, rather than adding a whole new kind of items in the game?

Like one hand crossbows? (lol) Better to have new items you can't find in other arpgs.

Hi

Disagree Scrotie. Crossbows were made for people that weren't good with bows. Bows took skills, Crossbows took a little winding up(depending on the crossbow model) and point and shoot, not much INT needed at all or DEX(as long as you can see you can hit), completely less skill required then a bow. Sure a bow sounds simple and a crossbow a little more complex but in 10 mins a person with no experience with either will do better with a crossbow, at this point one must realize its personal, some people love bows others crossbows.

Flavor part:1h crossbows were rare and tended to be made by nobles for nobles, 2h crossbows initially were for nobles but moved down to simple soldiers(why? because they are simple more simple then bows even considering the learning curve)eventually; but 1h crossbows never really changed status through the ages(still rare and not made into mass production unlike 2h crossbows).1h crossbows would be complex, 2h crossbows would be relatively simple. 1h crossbows would be light(hence no need for STR) and 2h crossbows would be big and cumbersome(hence STR required) Both would require dex but it would be so much more intriguing and encouraging for builds to have 1h crossbows with DEX and INT whilst 2h crossbow would require STR and DEX.

Conclusion:Makes more sense taste/flavor wise and historically that 1h crossbows would require DEX and INT. 2h crossbow would require STR and DEX. There was a reason why 2h crossbows were mass produced over 1h crossbows.

Now what about some implicit mods?

I'd be happy if these suggestions were just MTX skins:

- 2H crossbow skin for bows
- flintlock pistol skin for wands
- musket skin for staves

Hi

''Musket skin for staves''

So I hit them with my musket?

How about some diamond players make some unique weapons that look like crossbows /flintlocks/whatever?

cheers

You're right, it'd look funny unless you had an attack that resembled projectiles.

While I can agree on the part that Wraeclast seems sufficiently technological to be able to produce guns and gunpowder, I still don't like the idea at all. It would not fit anywhere in my opinion.

And what's to say guns haven't already been tried in this world? And found inferior when compared to thaumaturgy.
Slow rate of fire. Terrible effective range and accuracy. Only useful with direct line of fire.
Not really able to pierce that much better than a fully drawn bow. Or a crossbow for that matter.
People seems to be handing out death just fine in all sorts of scenarios and distances without 'em.
What would have been the insentive for the people of Wraeclast to further this seemingly inferior type of weaponry?
