Desync prevents cheating?
So, we've been told that desync is not a game issue, but a game feature to help combat cheating. Correct?
Well... GGG, it ISN'T WORKING! I could point you to a website were you can get; Pick It Map Hack Bots ..just to name a few major ones. Hell, there is a bot that can run all of act 1, 2 and 3. Oh and the users of that bot are saying they are not getting banned unless they bot 24/7. They can bot 12/7 no problem. The short story is, people are cheating regardless of desync and all desync is really doing is pissing of the legit players. I think it is time to try other anti cheating tactics and be gone with this frustrating game mechanic that isn't doing what it was designed to do. Thanks! Эта тема была автоматически архивирована. Map hack is the only relevant one here to discuss. That is the only one that exists in relation to the OP, because the client is currently given map related info.
Notice there are no speed hacks, dupes, item mod hacks, player centered hacks, etc. That's because the client is given so little information. Desync can be improved while keeping the info that segregated though. No doubt about that Последняя редакция: SL4Y3R#7487. Время: 4 апр. 2014 г., 18:51:55

this is no news even to me only playing since new leagues.
it is obvious that poe is getting botted hard and no one is doing anything about it (at least no effect) also this week the RMTers start to shuffle currency all day / rebuy / resell manipulate prices / rip off valueable rares from noobs so my advice to anyone legit is not to trade atm in the new leagues or only with ur friendlist(or low items) ;P let those itemshops run out of exalteds and the botters sit on their profits. |

The desync prevents cheating argument is just more spoon fed bullshit from GGG that soothes the "Desync Apologists"...
It's utter horseshit... And only believed by the most gullible and generally ones with the most "pretty forum titles". I mean these geniuses believed GGG when they GGG told people... "CYCLONE WON'T DESYNC BECAUSE IT IGNORES COLLISION..." Also remember everyone else told GGG, man that skill looks like it's gonna desync too... So who's more idiotic? GGG for not knowing how their game works, even after being told by people who never used the skill yet how it would behave. Or the "apologists" who believed GGG that it wouldn't desync... Desync probably encourages cheating rather than preventing it.
People are all the more likely to use RMT for gear that will make them survivable for a split second or two longer when a desync event occurs. Extra log out time! |

" You're being needlessly pedantic right now. I doubt there is anyone that seriously claims that desync causes hacking or that hacking is to blame for desync. They just recognize that much of the reason the game desyncs is because the developers refuse to give the client more information or processing power because of fear of hacking. Unfortunately it doesn't really work and there are plenty of hacks anyway. The game is literally farmed to an inch of its life by rmt farms and botters. All this decision accomplishes is make everyone that plays the game feel more miserable. |

It prevents a lot of cheating, but not all of it. Not hard to understand, I hope.
GGG banning all political discussion shortly after getting acquired by China is a weird coincidence.

" There's one hack correct? Wouldn't call that plenty. |

" There's dozens of RMT sites and presumably hundreds if not thousands of accounts gold farming. There's also zoom hack, map hack, bots, pick it programs, etc that pretty much anyone can download. Who knows how much else is out there behind pay walls and because they don't want it detected. That's "plenty" of hacks. I don't need to see people running around at 2 million miles an hour before I realize the game's multiplayer experience is riddled with cheaters, RMTers, multiboxers, and bots. Furthermore, because of the client-side nature of most of these hacks, it also means most of them are completely undetectable. Hell, the game can't even detect if you're loading multiple instances of the game on one partition. Basically, the developers insist on giving everybody a shitty experience riddled with desync to try to combat hacks that will pop up anyway. GG strategy. |
