I'm currently running Flame Totem - Faster Casting - Faster Proj - Added Chaos - Fire Pen - Iron Will.

Probably will take out Iron Will if it is a 5 link

What baffles me, why did the author of this guide ignore all but one socket along the tree?

I understand, Clear Mind is limited to 1 but a decent rare jewel with three useful mods can increase the tooltip DPS by 1k (which pretty much equals a poor roll Clear Mind), no two passives in the tree will grant us such a boost. And if you're feeling lucky throw an Exalt at it, who knows, maybe you'll be rewarded with 7% max life. ;)

I picked three sockets so far and I will certainly go for the fourth.

Really nice Jewels can make up for at least 2 big Notables, but are not that easy to get atm.
I am also running 3 atm, 2 rares with 7% hp, 2 dps stats and a 2nd really bad suffix (no luck on exalts :( ), planning for 6 if I make it high enough. Mainly dropped the quick recovery and Profane Chemistry cluster.

Profane Chemistry? Why would we want to spend 5 passives for 12% max life? I'd rather fill the Scion's life wheel with these 5 passives and get 25% max life. Or get more jewel sockets... for everything else, there are Seething/Bubbling Life Flasks, ;)

As for Quick Recovery, I'd ditch it in a heartbeat if it wasn't for the 0.8% Life regeneration. This is quite a lot at 7.4k HP, I get almost 400 life back per second.

I'd be quite happy with four sockets. Since I have decided against Totemic Zeal And Sentinel, the two sockets you have your eyes set on are quite beyond my reach. But I must say that socket with 12% projectile damage on the way looks nice. ;)

Anyway, I'm now at 20.5k tooltip DPS and further improvements will be marginal. With a bit more quality here and there and maybe 2 bad@ss jewels I get 2k more but I will not sacrifice tankiness only to get there.

As for luck with exalts, funny enough, this morning I found a really nice Samite Helmet:



I reserved Reflect and exalted flat armour then yolo'd +2 Minion. Only one hour later I found another Samite Helmet:



Same story, reserved Reflect then exalted flat and yolo'd armmour %, Needless to say, my Flame Golem's happiness over 20k HP was rather shortlived. ;)

Also changed my shield and rings recently:



Not too sure about the shield though, as neat as it is Lioney's does have even more armour, better block and projectile damage reduction, on the other hand, capped resists when cursed with elemental weakness isn't too bad either.

davc's post had me thinking about Doon so I searched my stash to try it. Lo and behold



actually gives me in 2 DPS more than



and indeed a lot more life. A no-brainer really.

Since this build has tons of STR by design (my witch has now 570 at lvl 92) Doon Cuebiyari certainly deserves a mention in the list of uniques recommended for this build. And it costs a lot less than a 110% spell damage wand. ;)

I found Rain of Splinters (31%) yesterday. Tooltip DPS drops by 2k ish in my setup (from 21.3k to 19.4k) but it looks pretty cool. In terms of performance the jury is still out. Will have to do some more testing and see how it goes against tougher map bosses. I don't mind swapping a gem for a fight but a tree jewel? I don't think so.

tomay is doon better than apep's rage?

Apep's is nearly 1k more dps for me.
Doon is 100 more hp. (420 str wo Doon)


P.S.: Getting Fortify with Doon and Leap Slam is cool, but way slower then Flame Dash for Movement.
