Another player retention gimmick.

Please do not roll these leagues into parent leagues at the end. Sounds like major abuse and chance for crazy items to achieved for minimal effort.

have only one suggestion, since it can affect whole instance be sure that it either spawns close to entrance/waypoint player uses or cant spawn near exit, it should also be pretty visible.

its really sad to find normal shrines at the end of an instance, and this one would be even sadder.

Well, yes, of course it is; they all but said it explicitly when describing the need for something enticing before the exciting temp leagues are ready. Will the "gimmick" work? Probably... I was actually planning on taking a break from PoE at least until the next challenge leagues, but I'll almost certainly spend a couple weeks gambling away my best drops now.

Happy to see another dev posting. It's nice to hear from the perspective of different members of the GGG team. Hopefully it didn't take too much Jonathan Time (tm) to write the post, though :P

amazing news! once again GGG is proved to be the best game company around, imho. One who works hard, cares about the community and it's opinions, bringing on amazing ideas, experimenting etc etc...

Really enjoying the flashback event and now looking forward to the Darkshrine ones!

I've seen something similar to this before, the only thing I can say is that it will be much more impactful depending on what locations it can spawn. If it can spawn in boss rooms things get very interesting. If they get limited spawn locations like shrines do, they become more of something that people will try to abuse.

I do think darkshrines would be something that could get players to visit unusual parts of levels.

Some more challenges would've been nice... Still waiting on that Ebony Seraph Armor set!
