Frenzy Charge Interaction with Base Attack and Damage Nodes from tree Query

So, I have a query, which is probably best explained through an example...

Say I have a weapon that does an average of 200 damage and have a passive skill that gives me 10% increased damage (so I would do 220 damage). Now when I have a frenzy charge active that grants 4% increased attack speed and damage, my question is if that 4% stacks on the overall damage of 220 (including passive point bonuses) or does it just increase the base damage of the weapon output?

Knowing this will help me decide if I should get rid of my +1 frenzy charges I'm running in my build and grabbing damage nodes instead.

Increased is always additive. The increased attack speed stat from your frenzy charge is granted to your character overall, not your weapon, so that it is a global modifier, not a local modifier. This means it stacks additively with other bonuses from the tree (and not your weapon).

So you will get less than a 1.04 multiplier to your DPS if you have existing global increased attack speed.

In case it isn't clear, because of decreasing proportional returns, it would actually benefit most builds a lot more to "increase the base damage [per second] of the weapon output." This is because weapon damage and speed are used as a base to be multiplied by global modifiers, and these are relatively limited as you can't have duplicate mods on items, so the max IAS you can have on a weapon is maybe 20 while the tree might grant you around 50. (Adding to 20 is better because of dim. Prop. Returns.)

All that said, I believe Frenzy charges grant base 4% more damage per charge as well. More always means multiplicative. So you will actually gain more than a 1.04 multiplier to your 220 damage because frenzy grants you increased ias, increased cast speed, AND generic more damage.

Yes, it is a "more" multiplier and is very noticeable, especially on a build that already has a bunch of "increased" buffs.
