I only know Ziggy went SC this league which doesn't bother me too much tbh. Zeno, Pohx, Ziz, Lifting still on HC, Mathil has been dominantly playing SC for a while now.
I am just sad Nugiyen isn't playing anymore :(

Various streamers alternate leagues and this league happened to align with them playing SC instead of HC.

ZiggyD alternates leagues.

waggle (aka shadow racer dude) is playing SC this league.


I don't really watch much of PoE these days, but I don't think it is uncommon for streamers to alternate leagues even before the lab, if anything has pushed people from playing HC to SC its that the exalt is really "too cheap", HC is on one end of the extreme and SC is on the other, still finding an exalt drop when they are worth 20chaos, well thats a bit underwhelming.

Well, I can see many reasons someone who rather play SC than HC (I certainly have my share of them), so it's not surprising. But is this something that has been happening more during Perandus/Prophecy, or was it common before? I don't follow streamers that closely, so I'm not overly aware of their particular activities.

I really think this league is this games "DAOC Moment".


DAOC was a PVP game and they added a really good PVE expansion. But they fucked up and FORCED all pvp players to run it or not be optimal. Sure they would still be good and strong with out it but still players felt they needed to run it to be optimal.


But most users quit instead.

Forcing streamers to switch from hardcore is a pretty good evidence of this. Larger Numbers leaving the game is more evidence, most people stayed last league for 2/3+.

That's not true, ToA added sooo much to DaoC's PvP, that was definitely a great add on and people just did not leave when it came out, the population was still good at that time.
There were very frequent ml rushes, and artifact were a big part of the economy after, so you could easily buy them if you did not want to farm them.

What made the player base leave was still to come, back then.
