[2.2] 100% chaos ICE TRAPPER - UBER down (T15 Abyss Double Boss fight in 10 sec!!)

I have been doing kamilrogoz's version of this build. Lev 85 now, gems are lev 19, and I have around 11k dps. It seems pretty low compared to everyone else's but then this is supposed to be a less dps, more tanky build I guess. Hopefully it will be enough for end game maps, and eventually, Uber.

I cannot complain too much so far though. I am doing tier 7-10 maps right now and mostly do pretty well although any boss with lightning kills me if I am not really careful as my lightning resist is only 40.

Tried normal Atziri and was able to do it deathless a few times. However tonight I tried a twinned Village Ruin and, while I was able to take down the dogs, the birds just wreaked me. One shot every time. Lost 50% into lev 85 because I am stubborn heh.

I have not tried Uber yet as I don't feel like spending the cash for the map parts. I have never done it either so I would probably get owned. I gotta figure out a better setup for resists though.

The trick to Village Ruins is to kill the birds first (after you kill one of the bosses the other enrages, and an enraged bird is extremely difficult to handle, whereas it's pretty easy to avoid an enraged dog) - for a twinned encounter you'll probably need to lure the dogs away (maybe equip a somewhat leveled decoy totem for this). If it's not twinned, there's usually enough separation between the dog and the bird so that you can kill the bird first.

To all who are asking about the 5L setup:

If you really want to use a 5L, drop the gem with the lowest multiplier.
But its not recommended to use a 5L.

Use a Tabula or any other (if available) 6L chest with the right colors. (2B4G)

If you checked what I'm using, you'll see theres a lot room for improvements, mostly capping the res, so I can use other/better jewels.

right now I'm sitting at ~16k deeps in my Hideout. Fully buffed its about 25kish or so. If I manage to get better Jewels I'll reach easily the 30k mark.

But as always the progression of a char needs time and dedication.

Which gem should I gcp in order please?
Why is noone getting crit and crit multi on amulet/rings? Also when dual wielding consuming dark daggers spell damage matters on both of them correct? U would want 60% on both?

You want both, but at first you have to get it.
I can talk for myslef here. I'm out of Divines. If I had any I would divine the hell out of my Daggers for sure.

The biggest Problem for me is, my ammy is one of my stats pieces... If I get my hands on a Crit/life/res one, I would be glad. (Manareg ofc too)

Don't Divine your Consuming Darks... it's a crap shoot that'll likely just eat up your currency.

Instead, sell every Divine you find and just buy 58-60 Consumings and then sell whatever daggers you've currently got equipped.

Also, you won't get a huge, huge DPS increase going from say 40% increased spell damange daggers to 60% spell damage daggers due to diminishing returns on "increased" damage. If you can afford to move up to better daggers, by all means do so. But if not, it's not a make-or-break proposition.

Agree with Bison regarding crit/crit-multi on amulet and rings. Trouble is, it'll be very expensive to get.

Moreover, we need strength for golem and fortify, we need to cap/over-cap resists, we probably need mana regen if you're not willing to use a mana pot, we're strapped for life so we really want life, if you're going dual curse you really want a +1 curse amulet,...

In the end, there's a bunch of requirements upon what constitutes a "perfect" ring/amulet, and getting those perfect pieces will cost multiple exalts.

This more than gets me by. If I were planning on building the perfect toon, I'd get better pieces... but at this point for me, I'm not going to bother.

OtOH these were comparatively pretty easy to get:

Roughly an exalt each.

But the difference between say +40% spell damage on each dagger and +60% is not huge, due to diminishing returns on "increased" damage. So if you can't afford perfect or near perfect daggers, no big deal.

You definitely want 20% quality on your Ice Trap. That's number 1 priority. Increased Ice Trap radius means faster clear speed (and some explosion overlap), which means faster leveling.

Here are some common support gems you may be using depending on your play style:
Cluster Traps - +0.5% Trap Damage per 1% quality (trap damage double dips)
Trap and Mine Damage - +0.5% Damage per 1% quality (damage double dips)
Void Manipulation - +0.5% Chaos Damage per 1% quality (chaos damage double dips)
Concentrated Effect - +0.5% Area Damage per 1% quality (area damage double dips)
Increased Area of Effect - +0.5% Area Damage per 1% quality (area damage double dips)
Elemental Focus - +0.5% Elemental Damage per 1% quality
Controlled Destruction - +0.5% Spell Damage per 1% quality

Miscellanous gems:
Herald of Ice - +0.75% global Cold Damage per 1% quality (and Ice Trap has 110% damage effectiveness)
Temporal Chains - cursed enemies are 0.5% slower per 1% quality
Enfeeble - cursed enemies have 0.5% reduced accuracy and crit strike chance per 1% quality

So if you're using HoI, that's 2nd priority; if you're playing safe, you may want to next prioritize the listed curses; beyond that, I'd prioritize the "double dip" per increased quality gems.

Hey, got question! About ascendancy classes. What's the best to pick? Going on saboteur? Bomb specialist/demolitions specialist/chain reaction? Or something else? Thx in advance
