GhazzyTV - Essence Drain & Contagion (or Bane/Soulrend) Trickster [SC/HC/Uber Elder/Shaper]

Ghazzy I'm torn between this ED/Contagion build for the new league in SC or your summoner builds. Which would be the better choice for map clear speed and boss killing? not necessarily uber lab or uber atziri but just mapping

The POB paper DPS looks really low. How do you get it to go up? Is this build capable of bossing at max level? I'm a new player.

My pleasure!
It will absolutely be worth it for hardcore, in softcore you can turn to the little squishier approach & use the Death's Oath chest instead.
Tabula Rasa is a decent starter chest till you can upgrade.
The damage should be more than sufficient considering all the buffs.

I plan to try and make all of my build guide builds so that all guides will get updated gameplay footage as well. Sadly I'm not a fulltime streamer yet which makes me unable to invest the time I needed for this to be done in a proper way. I will most likely start saving my build guide characters in Standard league as well so that it will be easier for me to do testing, changes & updates in the future.

Hey,

Mana Pool & 10% higher MoM effect, it is far better than a rare. If you want more damage you'll use Death's Oath which I'd recommend for softcore players.

Spell DMG dagger/mace so you can keep using shield charge before the "end-game wep" :)

This should be able to compete with the Baron SRS if all numbers adds up from the patch notes. It'll come down to a matter of personale taste of the playstyles I guess!

It is very doable for that yes, jewels does a lot for this build the DPS is currently a lot higher than it used to be and before 3.0 this build managed to deal with Uber Atziri and hit 250-300 mil exp/h in maps.

Yeah I'm slightly concerned with the Boss killing DPS without Poison now. I have no concerns about mapping though.

I tested poison once in 2.6 and felt it was only so-so for boss killing and opted out for higher spell dmg providing daggers using Essence of Delirium which worked wonders, and simply use VLT for added boss kill speed :) 3.0 will make this a lot better thanks to the buffs as well.

Hey! I might just make this my starter build for 3.0. I'm not going to roll another melee marauder or bow character. Time for some spells man!

Just one question: How do you sustain HP? Spam HP flasks? I'm used to leeching everything and essentially playing without HP flasks.

ED drains life to your based of it's damage + flasks for panic situations.

Hey ghazzy, looking fowards to playing essence drain, what are your thoughts on decay support, im feeling like its good for leveling. but it getting replaces at high level.

The PoB damage is possibly low because the default wither stacks is 1. Can switch skill to wither and set it to 10-20 and it'll increase the damage by a lot.

Cospri's is also a possible option for more damage in the chest slot though I think Death's Oath will do more but will be a PAIN to color. Using either one you will absolutely need the grand spectrums or your unreserved mana with a curse will be way too low.
