You can play with Enlighten lv 1 in Black Sun Crest without AA. Once it becomes lv 2 you can start using AA and have mana for 1 cast of Icestorm with CE (full boss DPS) or 2 casts with IR (good enough for mapping). And once it's lv 3 you have all the mana you ever need. Lv 4 is a luxury upgrade that lets you pre-stack a bunch of Icestorms before the fight starts (Shaper talking, Izaro arriving, Atziri phases, triggered fights, essences, strongboxes) - but that's not necessary.

Level 2 Enlighten + Black Sun w/ 5L (5gems) WI is not enough to do a 2 cast ice storm with AA on let alone having IR in, unless you somehow managed to get close to 1.4k int at that level. My level 71 WI char (1,264 int) has 166 mana left with 94 ice storm mana cost, that's with level 3 enlighten linked to WM and Disc. So there's that.

Lv 71? Umm... yeah, at lv 71 your mana pool is simply too small. You can level to lv 80 in the Lake really fast.

The Uber Lab farm video with the Templar was with Enlighten lv 2. Enough mana for 1 cast with CE worked just fine.

IR has no mana multiplier. It's free.

1% Int is somewhere around 12-15 Int depending on your gear. There is no reason to deny yourself 48-60 Int (an equivalent of a jewel!) only to save a few chaos.

You should be able to see the balls of lightning flying out when you take damage. But you are not using Doedre's Damning, and probably don't have Whispers of Doom either? So then you cannot apply those curses.

There is an OCC WI build, or at least was in 2.3, check the Witch build list. But no amount of ES regen can let you facetank the endgame bosses. And then you need to run around and dodge everything with much smaller DPS than the Elementalist. Most of the Occultist perks don't do anything for WI. I don't see the point. Not to mention the sweet near-immunity to reflect.

I got the .6% life/mana leech in 2 runs and the warlord's mark effect in about 5 more. I'm pretty happy with that!
Face tanking uber lab with zero issues now 7.8K ES. like a 1% chance of death if I lag or misclick. Only problems i've had are spike/saw traps on an ES character.

How do you deal with freeze if you equip a crafted crystal belt?

But i'm trying to plan out the Tree - your level 91 Link doesn't have all the skills filled out - is there something wrong with the link?

And thanks for reminding me: I changed lv 91 to lv 92 in the leveling guide but forgot to update the tree on the top. It's better to take the jewel socket on the right first.

Kelvynn has done an amazing job to optimise this build and after it became so popular, expect next legue items to cost 100 ex :)) However, speaking of 100ex , there is also room for improvment with the tree asuming you aqure Skyforth :)

Also the emporior mastery jewel works wonders on this build aswell, even though even not with optional gear you can clear all current content.

protip for under max rolled gear and flippers - divine orb

Skyforth is like 60ex on essence standard so that's not really an option for most.
A cheaper alternative would be the new ring Valyrium - http://pathofexile.gamepedia.com/Valyrium
I'm not sure if that will really work out in the end but it's very cheap - free even, so I might check it out - ~10 skill points free for a mere single chaos? yes please - I cuold get all the energy shield nodes and see my e-pen raise even higher. You know - the bigger the ES the... uhm.

Dude I just saw that you reduce 1 Fertile Mind Cobalt Jewel from your tree.
what did u replace that with?

Also, if that isn't a mistake kindly update your jewel image page too inside the gear section.
