The situation is a lot more nuanced and complex.

I fully agree with the fact that Putin doesn't make distinctions between "good jihadists" & bad jihadists, they are all bad and anti-west. The West sadly thinks that some jihadists can be controlled (lol, history is calling), and the US allows the Saudis & Turkey to transfer weapons to these groups (generally called "FSA", but there are many individual groups). This is a retarded policy, because we should never ever arm islamists, but the west does not arm ISIS - there is zero evidence for this.

Now, during the Russian intervention in Syria (which I also fully agree with), Putin and the RU MOD have been constantly using the acronym ISIS, to refer also to other various groups in syria, like Ahrar al-Sham & Turkmen groups. Putin is playing his own game and some counter-propaganda / disinformation doesnt hurt.

It's true that US is supporting some islamists, but not those which are on the US terror list - currently those are ISIS & al-Nusra.

Btw, news form my source revealed that the truck driver wasnt even a IS member. He stole bikes and sold them for 60 bucks, he liked to dance salsa and he liked girls. Was depressed and on meds and had anger problems. He never went to a mosque and has zero ties with any muslim terror group.
