When I read the notes I thought insanity was the effect that happens when you release the anchient seal.

But I just spent 10 minutes looking in-game for clues as to why I thought that without finding anything so I might've been mistaken.

Does anyone remember which prophecies darken the screen in a similar way? Since insanity stacks now, if that effect really is "insanity" then that's one way to find out.

Unbreathing Queen darkens the Cemetery map. Vaal Invasion darkens Lunaris I.
Not much use in Act II though.

I don't know about "Undead Uprising" or "Echoes of Witchcraft", but looking at the list of prophecies they sound like potential candidates.

is probably something related to crafting, after you blow 1500 fuses it will trigger and you will hear greust disaproval quotes each time you use another fuse.

More like, after you blow 1500 you will get triggered and emulate greust to your spouse/family/people near you.
