Thanks for the awesome guide! I played this build while leveling and it was a blast! This is my first PoE league, so there was plenty to learn.

I'm trying to change to build a bit here and there to fit my own style, but since I'm new that's a lot of trial and error.

I looked on poe ninja but couldn't find any 95+ necro with dead reckoning. I'm 92 myself and was looking for ideas about gear. I moved my spectre to the helmet to use a 6L (still looking for a 7L), which seemed like a straightforward change. But in what other areas can I gain some significant dmg or defenses if I have some exalts to spend?

Two questions:

1. What's the correct gem setup for the Melee skelly build's spectres, Solar Guards?

In the PoB version, it's listed as Raise Spectre, Minion Damage, Greater Multiple Projectiles, Spell Echo.

The forum thread says Raise Spectre, Minion Damage, Spell Echo, Elemental Focus.

2. Would Crown of the Tyrant be a good unique for Melee skellies? Or would it be better to try to get a helmet with +# to Level of Socketed Minion Gems instead - I don't plan on stacking STR for The Baron, so I might as well try for a rare helmet with this mod in addition to any possible defensive ones.

(Also I'm unlikely to be able to afford Crown of the Tyrant for a while, so unless it's actually very good I don't think I would bother lol.)

What do you think about Pledge of hands with MoM in this build?

Are the PoB links a joke or what? Negative resistances, trash items in general... What's up with that?

It's called placeholders.
I used to run full fledge PoB gear, problem was that too many new players tried getting exact copies of those items so I stopped doing that and I'm simply telling people in the guide in the gearing section to cap your resistances.
