No, I didn't forget that. The losses carry forward under the law, and the law was designed to let that happen for the reasons I mentioned previously.

Now - if you want to say that the law isn't really serving it's intent (to encourage business growth and jobs- then that is certainly a subject open to debate. The tax laws need a lot of reform from many angles.

That is actually a fair criticism. The CPA who did the taxes and made the adjustments should be given the credit for making good choices - not Trump, unless Trump instructed him to look at that angle. From the people I know who it professionally - the CPA - or accounting team - was almost certainly the guiding force to these savings, and the brain behind the business "acumen."

It is neither. The law was set up for a 15 year limit at the time (iirc) and that limit wasn't set up that way intending that people would only ever use a loss for one or two years. It is a deduction, not a tax credit.

What it does is let a business average out a large loss over several years of income. The reason this works, is that over a longer spread of time - most companies will rebound and be profitable. If they could only take deductions for one year - a lot more of them would go out of business and a lot more people wouldn't have jobs.

I'm sure you've seen it, its not new and has been referenced a lot. He has a problem with any form of taxation, while using the systems the taxes pay for 1,900 times as a plaintiff. Never mind the infrastructure his businesses rely on.

He is the rap video candidate, living large on borrowed shit, and complaining when he has to pay for it.

I have no idea on the validity of that. I'm not saying it isn't valid, or that Trump or some of his companies could have broken some tax laws- I just haven't seen it before.

I don't know ray, are you simultaneously taking the adjustment while avoiding paying property tax, while purposefully highlighting just how outrageously much money you spend on personal affects and meals daily as part of your persona all the while claiming you cant afford taxes because your business lost money which you tanked through writing off personal expenses against your company, meanwhile tying up multiple levels of the courts with an unheard of amount of lawsuits, while not paying any taxes at all for 2 decades?

Because if yes, then ya you are pretty unethical.
