In normal? I don't think they can drop until after you meet her and you don't meet her until right before the prison. I didn't start getting any until act 2. I saw there is a strongbox mod that gives silver coins, so you can always try rolling boxes to see if you can get a little more.
First coin on docks normal ,now i can see this is extremely poor rng judging from other post here but still i think i could use a little boost otherwise nobody in their right mind is gonna use prophecies on normal or cruel.

Last time I checked (yesterday) coins were worth almoust same price as they were in Prophecie despite they drop rate now is ten fold lower...

So what's your point? You are desperate SSF guy?
I love this game, I play it a lot and have very few complaints.
But the drop rate of silver coins now makes it pointless to have them in the game. I got 10 total with a magic find char, from all of act 1.

Fix this, prophecy is a fun part of the game.

Maybe he wants to experience that part of the game, maybe he wants to do the achievement attached to prophecies in this league, maybe he wants to get some useful leveling uniques that help make game progression smoother, maybe he wants to hoard shiny purple coins.

Regardless of his or mine or anyone's desire for these items they have been rendered effectively useless by the current drop rate, I was asking back when GGG rolled out that announcement about their drop rate not to overnerf it, but GGG is GGG and GGG overnerfed it anyway.

Finished normal with 7 coins. By the time I finished one set of council keys the first time in prophecy I must have spent hundreds of coins. So that ain't happening this league, at least not reasonably.

It is always like this. Things go from constant feature to an occasional encounter. Rogues, Shrines, strongboxes, vaal areas, masters, obviously nemesis and bloodlines packs... all way lower spawn rates than when first introduced.

I just think coins should have about the same drop rate as finding other, Previous ended Leagues mechanics.

Compare to Exiles, or Shrines, or Strongboxes, all which were their own league added into Core, I find coins the least. By a VERY far margin
The rate was already kind of low in prophecy if you were really pursuing prophecies, the drop rate in prophecy would be fine if you're not focusing on them.
The nerfing of coin drops was too extreme. In my experience they are as rare or rarer than chaos orbs. I understand that Prophecy is not the focus this time, but at this rate its a non-feature. It should be buffed by 300% - 400%, imo

At this poor rate players will also seal them much less = much smaller economy of Prophecy orbs

I am expecting less than 50 coins by the time I finish merciless, that is a damn joke. Its not like they took out the useless prophecies that ate coins all the time before like forceful exorcism, they either had to reduce the number of prophecies or keep the drop rates the same. They did neither and the feature is a failure especially so after the RotC and Voidheart nerfs.

Prophecy worked to even out the rocky levelling process but now it doesn't do that anymore. Coins are so scarce that people hold onto them till act 4 merc and even then they actively buy more to be of any use at all. They also tied a damn achievement to the number of monsters you kill that drop silver as an additional justification that the nerf exists.

Well as it is now its a feature new players will stumble on because its in their face, roll one or two prophecies from the coins they find, get unrewarding garbage and never bother with it again. Older players like me will just ignore it until its time to brute force it for the completion of achievements.

All those thousands of lines of dialogue "nearly six thousand words of voice acting" and development potential that GGG was so proud of swept under the god damned rug. Because they are too afraid to take focus away from icy strongboxes...
