Sword for crafting

Which one should I try, Vaal Rapier or Jewelled foil? Which one you guys think makes a better phys crit sword?

I would use none of both. Better use a Harpy Rapier as crafting base.
It has better Crit Multi and higher Base Crit (5.7%)

High base attack speed weapons have better scaling with a high flat phys dmg roll.

The top vaal rapier I can see is Sol Barb Vaal Rapier 511 pDPS.


Mind you, these are weapons crafted with a budget amounting to many thousands of exalts and with eternal orbs. You could call them relics.

Nevertheless, the same principle should apply to any crafting.

I know its not that high like those mirror worthy, but i think Vaal Rapier is a good base for PDPS.

It certainly works; the question is only about minmaxing. Realistically speaking, the best base for PDPS is whatever you can afford from poe.trade because weapon crafting is the lotteriest of lotteries.
