People manipulating POE.Trade

The problem is that these people have found a way to make themselves appear as online to POE.Trade, but they are not actually online on the accounts used to manipulate the market.

If GGG developed an actual trading tool, I am sure they could combat this.

It is called economy. If you get butthurt about this, or fall for the manipulation, it is your own fault for not paying attention.

it is hard to fall for the manipulation though, because when you underprice something desirable by fair amount, you get many whispers the moment it gets listed on poe trade. If this does not make you realize something is wrong, then there is nothing to help you:)

no, but can remember Ive seen in this forum section a browser tool allowing marking those (and other functions)

Back before the days of public stash tabs we all had unique URL's from XYZ that we used to manually mark ourselves as being online. It isn't some kind of crazy hack. This is still the way people that use third parties like Acquisition to list items mark themselves as being online.

No amount of manipulation can force you to sell your stuff for less than what YOU think it's worth. You just need to get better educated about the value of things if you want to be good at trading. Or you can pressure poe.trade to provide better tools and information to weed out bad actors. Because -newsflash- people will try to profit from your stupidity and lazyness in ANY system of trading ever.

With a proper trading system with 'buy at listed price' function, this wouldn't even be a problem.

You guys act as though the problem is with those that "fall for it". The problem is with people attempting to manipulate the market. And no, it isnt called "economy". Economy is when items are bought and sold and prices adjust according to supply and demand. These items are not for sale, and are there to deflate a price of those uneducated. That is abuse or manipulation, and something GGG claims to be very against.
