You just drop stuff you want to sell in your tab, set a price, and then just advertise it in trade chat. Anyone interested can plug your name into the search box at the stash and see what you've got.

That would actually be a massive step backwards to what we have now if there is no way to search for items with the stats you want. Clicking on someone's name in the hope they have something vaguely matching what you want, might as well just go back to the pre poe.trade days when you had to wade through mountains of vendor trash in the trade forums/trade chat to find anything.

If it's a choice between what we have now and some archaic in game point & click system that doesn't allow searching I'll stick with my 3rd party sites thanks very much.

I'm sorry, I love GGG and love PoE and the direction we're heading, but I'm completely adamant that the current state of trade is hurting the growth of this game. What Cris wants to do is please the 0.1% of players (which are the *real* vocal minority) and say f-you to the 99%+ of players who are more casual than they like to admit and would greatly benefit from an AH.

And the real reason Chris doesn't want an AH? Money. Keeping the people playing longer and paying more for MTX is what keeps GGG afloat. If all of a sudden their trade was automated, they wouldn't have a desire to play quite as much, and hence wouldn't necessarily buy as many MTXes.

The AH is my #1 sore issue with PoE. OP, I wouldn't call it "dead", as GGG has backtracked on their desires and promises. Remember when they said the MTX shop would only sell aesthetic items? Hahaha.
