M'well it's not hard to spot those botters.

Just post something that worth like 2 or 3ex for half price and you'll get like 50 whispers in less than ten seconds.

Then 50 more ten seconds later.


Guess ALL those people are legits ? Sitting in front of an indexer 24/7 ?


So it's easy to spot.


And to be honest it's even easy to fix.
Prevent indexers to index in real time.
It'll even ease the GGG servers usage since they won't be agressively requested by hundreds of people using those things.

You're missing the point. If they are automating something completely outside the game and making the trade manually when something pops up, how can you be banned for that. They are not automating any part of the actual game.

So automating real search is still related to botting.

There's a line to be drawn by GGG between a tool everyone can use (xyz) and a tool that requires knowledge and can give an edge over the multitude.


And as I said the fix ain't even hard.
I highly doubt it's impossible or even hard to put some kind of filter between a request on the API and the answer. It'll prevent mass requests (live search) and will even prevent the server to go splat as they tend to thanks to hundreds of billions of stashes.

You are objectively wrong about this. Do you really thing that GGG releases the API so people can manually look through it with no form of automation whatsoever? That's crazy. The information is public so people can write code to sort through it if they want. poe.trade is an example of an automated real search, so by your definition it is botting. If GGG wanted only poe.trade to have access to it then they would not have made it public.

You are objectively wrong about this. Do you really thing that GGG releases the API so people can manually look through it with no form of automation whatsoever? That's crazy. The information is public so people can write code to sort through it if they want. poe.trade is an example of an automated real search, so by your definition it is botting. If GGG wanted only poe.trade to have access to it then they would not have made it public.

So GGG releases the API and kinda tells their players about poe.trade, so 4rd parties can bot the fuck out of the game?

Easy. Give us a proper official poe.trade completely inside the game.

Since poe.trade is third party program which was generously shared with the community by XYZ, i will bump up the reality here.
