Why are there extremely slow spells?

Because it needs to be enjoyable too.
ED destroys a WHOLE like 3 packs with 1 bullet (with contagion), whereas some spells need like 30++ bullets to do the same

Yeah, it's a problem.

I'm more asking why these skills exist in a game if it's so fast paced that you use whatever 1 shots the entire screen from 3 screens away.

Meaning that the game is CLEARLY not designed around how it's being played and how it functions currently, so is 3.0 going to drastically alter how the game currently functions in combat for 80% of builds?

I mean, we can only hope it does.

However, it's probably unlikely. At least to the extent where it's actually meaningful.

Our best bet is hoping that act 10 reaches a higher level than current content, allowing us to kill more resilient enemies who may actually live longer than a femtosecond.

But unless they seriously nerf damage output across the board, it'll still be sanic simulator 2017.

I think you're looking at it the wrong way.

Instead of asking why slow skills exist in the same game as extremely fast ones, you should be asking why the game gives no incentive to play anything but the extremely fast ones.

Because your path leads to homogenisation and tedium. Mine hopefully leads to diversity and creativity.


They aren't even residual. Ball lightning and ED are newer than some skills, and Frostbolt is newer than most.

I'm gonna chime in and say me.

I'm one of those slow people. I thoroughly enjoy a casual pace. I've been in various parties (especially Zana rotations, which I don't do any more since several leagues ago) where I just feel rushed = stressed = not fun. I enjoy slow builds.

P.S.

Oddly enough, I still seem to make 30 to 60 chaos a play session. I see many threads where people say they never make currecy. >.>
Slow projectiles aren't necessarily a bad thing. Just let the enemies run into the projectiles faster than the projectiles run into them, especially if the projectiles cover a lot of area like frost bolt.
What you percieve as slow might have been a top clearing tool back in the day, but now duo to the oh so more fun and fast skills introduced recently, they pale.

It doesn't mean they are useless tho
