[Discussion] Api sniper fest vs the regular player-base
Friend just purchased an "private indexer" for $10.00 using paypal.
And damn he's purchasing items around 5 minutes before I can send a pm using poe.trade that says an item was listed as "1 minutes ago" right after I refreshed the page. We tested and he was able to get the items we wanted consistently from 5 to 7 minutes earlier before poe.trade list them. So my question is clearly there are users out there selling PoE item private indexer for real world cash. Is this allowed? Or this is the kind of RMT that GGG "ignores". I need to find out so I dont get banned for using these when I get it. The real hardcore PoE players and the elites sit in town and zoning in and out of their hideouts trading items. Noobs that don't know how to play PoE correctly, kill monsters for items. It's pure fact, it will never change.

I found the new axe forgot the name. Went to poe trade to check the price saw the first few were listed for 1c. before I could move my cursor from dropping the item into my 1c tab I got bombarded with whispers. apparently people are fake listing items to try and confuse new players to flip items. A few of the people event went ahead and tried to harass me further saying stuff like at least have the decency to reply.
It was practically impossible for a person to whisper me in that time frame I listed the item unless they were using some sort of bot. There is no more excitement finding an item for a reasonable price because before you even get a chance to whisper that person it will have been bought and relisted by the flipper |

Yesterday I found a tabula, but I don't want to go trough the horrors of listing it.
Same last league, I had to set up my own currency exchanges to get fusings I had to first buy exalts, because fusing to chaos was impossible. I had 0 pm for like an hour, then someone takes all of it and 5 mins later 76000 people constantly pming me. Последняя редакция: krenderke#3861. Время: 10 авг. 2017 г., 07:31:48

If GGG won't do anything about private indexers, then I guess the best thing to do is just to level the field. So here is a simple and free one for ya'll to enjoy.

Can you even get items you NEED anymore before someone who has NO USE FOR IT snipes anything even FAIRLY priced and jacking it up to unreasonable prices that people who actually play the game and not spend time flipping cannot afford?
Asking a normal player to start learning how to snipe just to get the FEW ITEMS THEY ACTUALLY NEED will just waste his time, screw another player and force him to waste his time doing it too, and repeat the cycle. |

" if ones opinion is "trading is the game" then life search is a 1k dps dagger, yes. but if one wants to play the in-game game... like really playing the game ingame... like with your actual character with an actual build playing the actual game... well in this case webbrowsers and live search are not weapons; noobs are not the enemies where you want to get your loot from; and flipping is neither a build nor a skill. --- --- i just see it getting a problem time by time that a non-trader cant afford shit anymore. and as i see things, it will get a serious problem soon. now you might say "but the non-traders are the ones getting the loot to feed the market, so they have to sell it first and get their currency as well" but still, in this case the prices would grow and grow until the first seller cant afford his own items anymore. on the other hand again... poe-trading 2018: boots with six t1 rolls, resists, life, mvmnt and all stuff: 20ex, boots with 5 t1 rolls and one t2 resist: 2 alcs :P --- --- " pretty much this. and my point is: the average player really learns this now. slowly, but they learn. and that mean the cycle grows and item get even faster even more expensive. means that the disproportion grows. and it will grow faster and faster in the next few leagues. this again will make new players unable to get items -> they will stay with shitty gear -> unable to do content -> leave the game. so on the long term, less noobs and more traders -> more traders; higher prices. so either you trade, then u get rich, or you dont trade and you will have to eat your own toe nails. " You're straight lying and you know it. Private indexers are generally a few seconds faster than poe.trade whoops + the advantage that most of them copy the whisper message direct to your clipboard which saves you another second or two. Items don't take 5-7 minutes to show up there (you can test this easily by setting up a live search for an item and dropping it in a public tab) unless there is a problem with the API which would also prevent a private indexer from finding it quickly. As per usual with this forum hysterical clueless people are blowing stuff out of all proportion. Последняя редакция: Randall#0850. Время: 11 авг. 2017 г., 06:38:40

" Not really he paid someone to configure it for him. Is this that hard to believe? w/e makes you happy so using private indexer to gain advantage is legal in poe. All I need to know. Thanks. The real hardcore PoE players and the elites sit in town and zoning in and out of their hideouts trading items. Noobs that don't know how to play PoE correctly, kill monsters for items. It's pure fact, it will never change.
