sure no arcane surge buff both ed and bane

My last question for this build is:

why run 2 curses in the 6 link bane setup?
usually people run 1 curse (Despair) and the rest elsewhere.

Wouldnt bane do more dmg if it had another good support gem like void manipulation?

So my question is, i have bloodmagic at level 21 Vaal discipline/disc at 20, Malevolence at 20 and enlighten at level 3.. that means my MAlevolence reserves 59% health and my discipline reserves 41% health.. but i cant activate one of them because i cant drop to 0% health.. so just wondering your way around this? I have copied your POB skill tree more or less to pick up all the reserved nodes.. Thanks in advance, Jake

I am not the OP, but I am playing this build (ED/Bane) this season and also last season. I can answer your question from my point of view.

Yes, Bane does more dmg if supported by other good support gems when running only 1 curse with it, but the additional dmg may not be necessary since bane is generally used for clearing maps in this build. It is already a good skill for mapping even with 2 or more curse with it. I actually run three curses with it this season along with arcane surge, only 5 links, and it still works.

I would say running 2 curses in the 6 link bane setup is because there is no more socket available. You may put curses elsewhere with blasphemy or on vixen's entrapment, but you would have to deal with the reservation problem and, most serious, socket arrangement problem.

I have two questions as a newbie in both POE and ED builds.

1. Can I use ED/Bane and keep Contagion in a random slot just to spread ED in case I get some big packs or It wont do much w/o being 4-6 slot?

2. Is it possible to min/max ED/Bane for end game? At least like some other Dot based builds like Vortex? I kinda dont wanna get maxed or near maxed too soon.

2 : sure u can do this part aslo all u need the bow with the mods i give and empower for ed in bow

Blood Magic needs to be at lv 20 (111 Strength) and Enlighten needs to be at lv 4 to go low life with these 2 auras.

Alternatively try taking the "Reduced Mana Reservation" node north-east in the skill tree (it's in the PoB so you'll get it eventually)
or
try equipping Conqueror's Efficiency. Not sure if it works but it's only 1c so doesn't hurt to try.
