[3.x - Discontinued for now] Burning Spectres - Torch the Atlas - HC Shaper, Elder, Uber Atziri

Arrrgh, I've bought Tukohama Fortress shield and tried new setup against map bosses and Guardians. I must say... it's a bit disappointed to my taste. Though I can still reach cap block with Rumi's + Advancing Fortress, perhaps I'm not a very good flask user, I am still easily ripped by chance strike (crit?) from bosses. Loss of life roll on shield and respec out of a few life passives do not help either. Maybe I need to invest into more life/mana on jewels and rings and the like.

Damage wise, I'm not sure it's a really great improvement or not since I need to spend my time running around more carefully so at the end of the day, it's somewhat not incredible as I expected. Sure when 6 totems focus-fire on bosses, the life bar melt seems satisfying.

Perhaps I should go 4 Vanguards for 8 totems, since that much coverage can be somewhat comparable to Wickerman's RF aura and the boss-damage increase should be really noticeable.

So for Shaper and Uber Atziri, would you recommend using a Cloak of Defiance, or a Vis Mortis? Mostly concerned with AG getting killed due to the reduced life from the Vis Mortis. Just curious what other people's opinions on this one is.

AG will get rekt with Vis Mortis. Just for your information. I'm not sure it may survive in a +2 helm with empower but it's not worth it.

Personally, I think it depends on your dodge skill. If you feel that you struggle to stay alive all the times (like me), opt for more defense. If you feel comfortable doing hard shit like guardians/shaper, AG is good enough investment since it will (somewhat) increase your total dps output. I never run 3 spectre myself but others seem to do hard content with 3 spectres just fine, so dps output is okay with Cloak.

I rolled this one. And what can i say... At some point I hope its getting nerfed. Killed shaper on lvl 77 with out uber lab. Did not have capped resistances and my hp was around 4.5. Cleared all guardians etc... Damage output is out of this world... Tankiness of those spectres are really too far... :) next stop is uber atziri, but I wanna get around lvl 88 at least to try it. Need more hp.

Can anyone using wicker man try testing if RF does stack with it?

So far what I can tell:
The wicker man icon always appears above enemy:
- even if RF "hits" first
- even if RF deals more dmg (in case highest burn counts)

I tested on beach and dunes bosses and it seems to work, but quite difficult to say for 100%.
Testing is a bit awkward with necro+rf+sustain and the wicker man's other attack.

RF effect does not stuck. Its my knowledge... otherwise there would be no reason to take vanguards for single target.

I'm talking about selfcast RF (not sure if you meant that)
I know multiple wickerman or multiple RF (2+ players) don't stack.

As for the shield I tried Unshattered Will


It gives life, resist (which I need most as my other pieces does not give much), and block chance.
Then it also has a "gain mana on block". So my mana depletes slower in nasty situations (e.g. no regen/dmg mods maps).
Finally, the harbinger from it grants a buff that provides 20% ALL damage reduction, and immunity to ALL ailments plus stun. However it is tricky to utilize as it only triggers on channeling. I changed ball lightning to storm burst for this. losing a bit efficiency but I think is worthy.

Just my 2c.
